MessageHi Tarquin:

My husband and I both really admire your photography. We've had the great blessing and pleasure to travel to your country several times and have wonderful memories of photographing some of the places you have on your site.

One abandoned house was of particular note. it is letter A and in one certain photo, it shows a small white flag with American flags within its borders and lists the place as Camp Abbot, Oregon. As we are from Oregon, I had to look it up and found it to be a military base of note in WWII.

I am wondering if the former residents of the house had a son or grandson in America who joined the military during WWII and was stationed there.

So sad to see so many homes in such a state of decay. As we traveled through Ireland, I found myself continually thinking of the former residents and how their lives may have been and what led them to leave such a beautiful land.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful work!

Slan agus beannacht,
Karen
