MessageFantastic look into days gone by.
Really enjoyed the website.
A little sad to see these beautiful
buildings left to crumble as nobody
can create these wonders today.

MessageI have just fallen into your website by accident - your photos are absolutely awesome!

You don't happen to recognise this place - I was trying add a link but it won't let me - please search for "Mwahaha" on flickr and you can see the place I mean.

As you can see the National Library are keen to indentify it and the "flickroonies" are usually very quick at identifying places and things - if you look at the Library's Collection you will see what I mean - but in this case no one can find anything!

Having looked at your excellent website I thought you may be able to help

Thanks in advance

Bill

PS I am mentioning your site on the flickr page!

T.B> Hello Bill. Sorry I don't recognise that house and don't think it survives in ruins; so either demolished or restored?? If anybody else wants to check it out, take a look here:

MessageJust dropping by to say I *love* your website and I must get a copy of your book! I particularly enjoyed the 'Spirit House' in Wicklow - getting rid of paranormal entities/activities is what I do for a living! Crucifix may or may not have been a good idea! Keep up the great work, it's wonderful to see the abandoned houses documented.

MessageIlove both your website and your book. I have spent many enjoyable hours returning to both. I wish that you would add Coole Park to your collection. I know that the house has been destroyed but the woods, turloughs, walled garden, autograph tree and steps to the house remain. I have not been able to locate any photographs of the house even though there is a painting of it by W. B. Yeats.

Thanks for all that you have done. I hope to return to Ireland soon to see the park.

Frank.

MessageI came across this site by pure accident when I was looking for info on Fort Camden in Cork. Absolutely outstanding website, I had no idea how many abandoned, forgotten ruins are in such a close proximity to me. It is such a shame how nothing is done with most of these sites and I've noticed that when people try to restore these places out of goodwill, an bord pleanala step in with red tape and put a stop to everything. It appears that they would prefer to see it rot before they let people do anything with it. I will agree to a point that there have to be certain rules to abide to, but these people have taken it a step too far. As a country which is steeped in historical places we have so much to offer in tourism which unfortunately sucessive governments have ignored. (You never really know what you have until it's gone) Well done again on your website.
