MessageTarquin, thanks for your recent email. Not sure of the Linen Mill in Magherafelt. Glad you liked the pictures of Brookfield house. Sorry these were only iphone shots and not great quality. I have a few abandoned Mills beside me and know the site owners so will send you a few decent photographs when I get over. The one I am thinking of was built in 1795, and was abandoned in 1945, though still has the roof. Tomas. PS had ordered your book today on amazon, impressive!

MessageYour book is absolutely fantastic and I was so excited to find your website two days ago!Went visiting today and saw Louth Hall but unfortunately a herd of cattle put us off getting closer .We headed next to Stephenstown house and explored for ages! It is very overgrown now .On returning home we studied your excellent photographs and on page 2 in one of your photos we can see a man at the window on the left hand side. Are we seeing things or is that really a man.?

Kind regards,
Maura

MessageThank you for the splendid photographs and research on the Bere Island Co.Cork fortifications. My husband's uncle was Master Gunner on the island in 1911. I visited the island in July 2010 and saw the Master Gunner's house. The photographs capture the power of the Royal Artillery guns, and the strength of the fortifications.

MessageThis has to be the best website that I have come across, you are brave avoiding collapsing floors! and the bad spirits that hang about these lonely places.
A visitors section of this site would be good! I know lots of derelict big houses in County Down.
What do you use for the virtual picture tour?

MessageHello,

Really love your website. Very nice work.
I was looking for your advice on something.
I'm in a band called sleep thieves and were looking for an abandoned location to shoot an upcoming video.
Were looking for something close to the sea, with the ability to get inside. Since you seem to be the leading expert on this subject I hope you can help.

Thanks

Keith

MessageWhat a great web site!
My Gradfather was a civvi who worked for the Navy on Bere Island. We have visited the island on numerous occasions and were disappointed not to be able to enter the old forts...obviously they are in poor condition now so it's understandable that they are locked up. The pictures on the site are stunning...well done
