MessageI'm so sorry to hear about Kathy's health. I took a class from her when I was still living in California in the Bay Area. She so inspired me with her free-motion quilting that I am now a longarmer and doing it for a living. I actually have a couple of my own quilts that she quilted for me. I will always look at them and think of her fondly. Best wishes for her health and your family.

MessageDear Kathy, Ken and Kristine - My heart goes out to each of you! I first met Kathy years ago when she was in Corvallis, Oregon, giving a trunk show - way before she got so well-known (deservedly so). Over the years we had many good conversations when we'd meet at quilt events. The quilt world will miss her creativity and love of the art, as I will.

MessageKen, I was so sad to get you email this morning about your Mom. You and your sister are doing absolutely the best thing by trying to sell her quilts to help her have quality care. A very good friend had just this same illness, and it was heartbreaking to have to make these tough decisions for her, but they have to be done. May God give you strength to do everything that needs to be done, in just the right timing, and thank you again for letting everyone know.

MessageI just got your e-mail message about Kathy's dementia. My prayers and concerns are with you and your family as you raise money for her care. Let us all know the e-bay site for her quilts.

I did not know Kathy personally, but I did know Susie Robbins who often had Kathy quilt Susie's designs. Kathy quilted a quilt for our church, Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship. What a special talent!

Prayers,
Renay

MessageKathy made a presentation a few years ago at the Folsom Quilt & Fiber Guild that really made an impression on me. Her quilting "drawing" was something I could relate to and I immediately began using her techniques. I saw her present again at FQFG show in February 2008.

I'm very sorry to hear she is not well. I'll look for her quilts on eBay.

MessageI am deeply saddened with the news of Kathys illness. Kathy is the reason I am the machine quilter that I am today. I meet her, fell in love with her "Show me how to Machine Quilt" book, took it home and tired every quilting pattern in it. When the second book came out I was lucky to have a workshop with Kathy in Fredericksburg, Texas and again took the book home and tried every quilting design. I enjoyed our time together and learned so much from Kathy. I send love, strength and hugs to Kathy and all the family. Love, Sue
