MessageKathy,

I want to thank your family for their efforts in keeping me informed about your new location and how you are feeling. I have been so saddened as my other quilter friends have been over your health issues. You are such a gifted and inspiring quilter. You gave such a magical touch to all the quilts you have worked on for me I can't tell you how much I have loved your work and all your creative ideas. My prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. I will do my best to spread the word about the quilts you are trying to sell. I am leaving for Asilomar in a week and will meet up with many of your friends there. Hopefully they can add some unique ideas on how to help as well. God Bless
Barbara McFarland

MessageI took my first machine quilting class from Kathy back in 2000 and what a world it opened up for me. I am now a professional longarm quilter and textile designer/instructor. I am so sorry to hear of this development for her. She had such a wonderful talent and I will be forever grateful to her for that first taste of a world that has brought me such joy. Half the battle of quilting is figuring out what to quilt, I loved her approach to stitch design and incorporate that approach in my own work. My prayers are with all of you. Don't sell all the quilts, you need to keep some of them for your children and your children's children. They are priceless.

MessageOur local quilting community is devastated to learn of your illness. You had a profound influence on machine quilting in this area. Following your vist about five years' ago, 20+ of us purchased the same model Brother sewing machine you were using and formed a group which still meets monthly called "The Brother Sisters". Although the number of participants has gradually declined, we often talk about that class and how much we learned and how much fun you were. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

MessageKathy

Thanks for all you taught me. You helped me get over my fear of machine quilting. I still suck, but I'm working on it.

Every time I think of you I smile.
