| Message | was stationed at gafb october 1961 fire fighting school was in fact first student training instructor. myself and another gi was picked from 1200 personnel to be student ti's and march all the military personnel to breakfast. intered the air force with one strip because of previous military reserve time. loved the dances at the service center when they brought the girls from town to dances with us. went from there to Kindley afb bermuda spent 14 years in got out and continued to fight fires for roseville ca city until retired. was in japan, travis afb cam rhan bay viet nam germany then beale afb please send me information about your time at greenville |

| Message | To Gary Flesher: I was just looking at what i wrote last December. I said we marched over to the chow hall...that was wrong...we marched to class. I came from Upper Sandusky OH, small town of 4000, no black families so the South was different. I don't remember the names of any of the buildings. I know our classes were down near the flight line. Doe's could have been the name of the restaurant, I would make a special trip down there today if I knew they still had those great steaks. |

| Message | Hi Greenville AFB I was with the 3508 flm squardon from oct 54 until dec 57 at which time to my regret I left the Air Force.My two oldest daughters were born at the base hospital.We went back to Greenville for a reuion in 2003 and could not believe the changes.If anyone remembers me give me a shout on my email |

| Message | Was just browsing the web looking for information on Greenville AFB, Miss. I was stationed there in the summer of 1964 in the medical corpsman school. I only spent three months there but have fond memories of the small base. It must have closed down shortly after I left there. Enjoyed looking at the pictures on this website. Thanks |

| Message | Hi Roger Robertson, well you were not at GAFB long enough to remember anything....LOL. I would not remember the snow, as I was living in LA, CA. Hi Tom D, thanks for the kudo's about the web site. I don't remember a bowling alley, so I wonder if that was put in after 1955 or if I just don't remember it.......... | Message | Hi David Schindel, you did not say where up north and if your girlfriend was local or from up north. I was stationed at GAFB 1953 - 1955, but I don't seem to have the recollection of segregation that you do. Probably because I was used to it. I do remember the guys at the base telling that Nelson street was really a great place for African Americans. I have a base building location map on this web site. Do you remember what buildings you were involved with as student leader? Was the steak house called Doe's? |
