MessageI am descendent of Daniel & Mamie Reep. Ollie was her brother. I was born in Hickoy but moved to Florida when I was 9. I love Hickory and Hildebran. Most of my cousins live around the area I always look forward to my visits home. I always make sure I drive thru Henry River, slowly.
As a child my parents drove that way and I stared out the window at the homes. It was still an active town. The white house on the hill I always imagined who lived there. It was a castle to me, 1950's. I love the nostaglic feeling and memories the place brings to the surface. Love this site, Thank you. Cynthia

MessageI moved here over 30 years ago from Indiana and have always been fascinated with the village. My two sons walked through some of the houses a few years ago and I could almost feel the lives of those who lived and worked there.
I too have had visions of some knid of historical site at the location. I especially like the idea of an artisan center and, possibly, a museum. Since it is for sale, I would hate for it to fall into the wrong hands. I will be willing to do anything I can to help in the preservation of the village. I often recommend a drive through the village to anyone I come in contact with who has not seen it.
Please fell free to contact me at [email protected]

MessageSome sweet and bitter memories, but all precious to me. I have some old photos that my father did. I need to send them into the site.

I would love to hear from some of the other people that grew up the sametime I did in the village.

MessageI loved the pictures, my mother grew up in the village and I live less than 1/2 mile from it now. My grandparents were Ed and Rose Cline, my great-uncle Bill Cline lived there to. I happen to know two or three of the people in the pictures. I spent hours with my dad and mom exploring the houses and fishing in the river, while listing to stories of the past.
