MessageHello,

I am the daughter of Ralph R.(Dick) Corbin, Jr.
who was a pharmacist's mate on the USS Randolph for a short time during the late 40's and / or the early 50's.

If any surviving crew members recall my father, I'd love to hear from you. I also have military service, nearly 11 years in the Army, and now in the US Public Health Service, which is also a Uniformed Service.

Thanks very much. -Trish Corbin

MessageJust saying Hello! I was in VS-27 from October 1966 until my release from Active Duty in July of 1968. Any other former VS-27 crewmen out there? I was an ATN-3 and an aircrewman.

Bill

MessageRon Inman, saw your note about 1956-58 Marine Detachment. Sgt Tom Scott, Tony Plante, Sgt Gene Harvey, Col. (Ret.) Franklin "Nick" Hart and I generally get together once or twice a year for a mini-reunion. GySgt. Jim Breslin was with us, but passed away last year, probably becauser of Agent Orange in Nam.
We have talked to Trippleton (badly wounded in Nam), Lacy, and Billy McCullough recently. All reportedly retired as Captains. I've met with Jim Stahl a couple of times. Col. Redfield is retired in N.C. Others have made contact.
My email is [email protected]. We are trying to track down as many Randoo Marines as we can.
Love to hear from you. Hope you can make it to our next reunion.
Semper Fi,
Cpl. Gentry, Detachment Clerk, 56-58

MessageCame aboard the Randolph, November 1967 in Norfolk, VA. As a EM3 assigned to E-Div, lighting shop and battery locker. Got off of a LST (1032) after a year tour of duty in Vietnam. Big change, big ship! Lots of watch standing in the generator rooms. Good ship till the end in Boston Feb 1969. Remember the trip to Rio, on the way back we recieved the news that the old girl was to be decommissioned. Good times in Boston! Made E-5, left ship to go to the Yorktown CVS-10. Finished my 4 years and two months on the Yorktown. Almost 40 years ago. Still working as a electrician, Navy trained.
Watch over all in harms way!

MessageMy father, Robert Gladd, was on the Randolph around the 58-59 era. In the Air-dales, he worked on the flight deck with aircraft maintenance. A native of Butler, Pa he fondly recalls the memories of the Randolph and the Med cruise he participated in. Also the pilots trying to qualify for carrier landing. Anyone out there that recalls him or this time on the ship, please contact me and I'll get him in touch. Email me at [email protected]
