| Message | My dad was a huge Yankee fan and baseball fan in general. I grew up in Indiana and we often went to see the Reds because it was close. I was born in 71 got to see Bench etc. and became a huge reds fan. Went to Chicago in 1979 to watch the Yankees play and Im only 7 at the time. Dont remember much about the game except my Dad telling the Yankee Catcher is going to be in the Hall of Fame someday which I later find out is Thurman Munson. The next day he dies in a plane crash. Thirty years later I find myself in Canton OH and one the the guys working for me is Thurman Munson nephew. So I had to hear all the stories and was just fascinated by the whole thing. I started to research his career and to make a long story short I can not believe he is not in the Hall. |
