MessageBeautiful town. I have the pleasure of driving through almost every day. Stop at THE LOOKOUT and enjoy the awesome view. Be careful of the garbage left by PIGS that inhabit the area. Disgusting. Please put a garbage can there. Most people will use.

MessageMy Grandfather, Hugh Robert Penney and Son, Norman were on the Southern Cross around Cape Freels andd Cape Pine in 1914 when the ship was into a large storm causing the Ship to sink with 173 men aboard and a Ship full of Seal Pelts including on the deck
My Father, Ambrose Penney was born in Carbonear, NL, came to the USA in 1916 with Family to Portsmouth, NH sponsered by Salvation Army Church.
Grandmother was Mariah Jane King / Penney of Carbonear/Kingston, NL
I am Ambrose Penney Jr. of Rollinsford, NH
My wife Gail and I were in Carbonear to visit my 2nd cousins in 2003 and my Dad was right to call this Country " God's Country "

MessageI used to live in Carbonear. I'm from the southside and lived on Churchill Circle. I enjoyed looking at this site. Makes me homesick. A big hello to anyone who remembers me. I'll be back to visit someday.Till then I will enjoy all the photos and just remember.

MessageOn January 9th, I had the pleasure of stopping into Carbonear and wish I would had had more time to enjoy the community, the people and the history. I hope to get back there in the next year or two, but in the summer months.
