| Message | My Grandfather, Hugh Robert Penney and Son, Norman were on the Southern Cross around Cape Freels andd Cape Pine in 1914 when the ship was into a large storm causing the Ship to sink with 173 men aboard and a Ship full of Seal Pelts including on the deck My Father, Ambrose Penney was born in Carbonear, NL, came to the USA in 1916 with Family to Portsmouth, NH sponsered by Salvation Army Church. Grandmother was Mariah Jane King / Penney of Carbonear/Kingston, NL I am Ambrose Penney Jr. of Rollinsford, NH My wife Gail and I were in Carbonear to visit my 2nd cousins in 2003 and my Dad was right to call this Country " God's Country " Thank you, Ambrose (Joe) Penney Jr. 03-17-09 |
