MessageTo Marc Teti-
We went to Torricella Peligna in June 2006. Not much to do for kids but we did go to Lanciano to shop and to the beach at Torino di Sangro. Hope that helps. p.s. bring jeans and jackets as it is still cold in June up in the mountains.

My father was born and raised in Torricella until he moved to Philadelphia when he was nine. Although his father's family all moved to the US, his mothers family, the DiFabrizio's, are still there. I got to meet his cousins and second cousins and they treated us like ROYALTY.
Stayed at the Hotel Cape where the owners were very hospitable. smilie

MessageHello,

Congratulations to those who developed this interesting and informative web site. My grandfather, Pietro Teti, emigrated from Torricella around 1910 following in the footsteps of his brother Antonio. Both lived in Southeastern PA and eventually my grandfather settled in Chester, PA. I visited Torricella in 1989 while backpacking in Europe and stayed at the house where my grandfather was born. It is now owned by my fathers cousin Antonio who resides in Rome with his wife Caroline. I was fascinated. It's a great little town.

This June I'm taking my family to Italy for 2 weeks and we will be visiting Torricella for 2 to 3 days. I want to find some fun activities for the kids (mainly teenagers) in Abruzzi and the Torricella area. Any recommendations.
Grazie.

MessageI am desperately seeking information on my Great Grandfather Luigi Teti. He was born in Montenerodomo in Aug.1890. His last know residence in Italy was Torricella Peligna. His father was Vincenzo Teti and his mother was Maria Toffaletti Teti. He came to the US through Ellis Island in 1907, his destination was Philadelphia to meet his Sisters Maria and Angelina Teti. We believe he also had a brother Joseph. Also believe other family names in New Jersey are Volpe, Piccirelli, Porecca-(through marrage). In 1914 he moved to Colorado. Would love to hear from you if you believe your from this Teti family.

MessageGood morning:

My family will be travelling to Italy in April and May and we will be in Torricella Peligna on May 1st. We know that is Labor Day in Italy and wonder if we will be able to research our family on that day. My grandfather, Antonio Teti, emigrated from Torricella Peligna to the United States early in 1911. We would like to be able to see any records in the church ~ I assume the government offices will be closed. Does anyone know whether that will be possible?

MessageBuon Giorno,

I want to say hello to all the Teti's living in Torricella Peligna. My grandfather, Vincenzo Teti, immigrated to America approx. in 1912. My cousin, Edward Killingbeck, who has made several visits to Torricella, has told me what a beautiful site it is! My other cousin, Father James Teti of Mendham, New Jersey, said Mass at your local chapel several years ago. I hope to someday take my wife and 4 children to visit you wonderful people, so my children can see with pride where our family came from. We are from Torrington, Connecticut. God Bless all of you!!

Caio,

Pete
