MessageHi all ex 3 para. I was in 16 para provost for a time in the 70's I also served in Osnabruck in the late 70's with the distinction of having arrested big Ginge Mccarthy who lost his life in the Falklands. Met a gentleman in my local pub in North Tyneside who says he was an officer in your battalion from 1983. Strange thing is he hasn't a clue who Ian Mackay VC is. His name is Ray Mahon. Would be obliged if you could shed some light on this fellahs validity. Could be wrong but...
PS I also locked up the that big galoot Colin Morse (Mr Malta in a his heyday) That was a good day very painful though the bugger thumped me. Even at my advanced years still very protective of your mob.

Kind regards

MessageHi Doug,
Thanks so much for your kind message. Mum (Val) says thank you, and wishes you all well too. I remember Cyprus very well, unfortunately only a few photos of that time seem to exist! I know how pleased dad (Barny) was when he arranged for us to visit him there. Mum still lives in Aldershot, tel no: 01252 326350 or I can be reached on 07837 359161 or jackie.barnett@rocketmail.com if anyone else wishes to contact us too.
