MessageSome people will be aware that the 6 Nations Rugby Tournament kicked off with the opening fixture last evening in Cardiff involving two very good teams, one who played exceedingly well for FORTY minutes and one who played even better for EIGHTY minutes.
The real reason for this message is to bring to the attention of Club members and The Chairman the fact that on the day of the reunion the final round of matches may require a "Tweaking" of the AGM timings as in previous years. The games concerned are Scotland V Ireland, kick off @1430hrs and England V France kick off @1700hrs.
An ideal time for the AGM may be at 1610hrs on the conclusion of the Scotland game, thus allowing
50 minutes for the AGM, not long I know but if we only spend 45 minutes dicussing the Airborne Fly Fishing Society that would leave five minutes for AOB!!
I am sure Club members have their own views and ideas, if so then please let's hear them.
If you listen really well some people may just be able to hear that Sweet Chariot beginning to oscillate very slightly!!
Safe Landings whatever colour rugby shirt you wear,

Laurie Bland smilie

MessageHow sad it is to hear of the passing of Stan Spencer Causer. A nicer man one could not wish to meet. He will be sorely missed.
I seem to recall Stan was a fine Battalion boxer as well as a footballer.
RIP Stan.

MessageFuneral details for James POSTILL : The family of James (known affectionately as 'Jimmy City'smilie have released the funeral details. The Funeral will take place at AGECROFT Crematorium, Langley Rd, SALFORD M27 8SS, at 11:40 hrs Wed 4th Feb 15. All are welcome to attend, and if possible, (current/former Armed Forces Personnel) the wearing of Regimental Ties, Badges, and Medals would be welcomed to give the proceedings a kind of military feel, as Jim would have liked. Of course you may attend in whatever you feel comfortable. The Reception afterwards is at BOOTHSTOWN Royal British Legion, Victoria Street, Boothstown, Salford M28 1HQ (tel 0161 790 2928). Any questions can be inboxed to myself and I will endeavour to answer them fully.

Jim started his Army career with The KINGS Regiment, and later transferred to the Parachute Regiment. A very dear friend taken far too early. Jim was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease around 18 months ago, where the effects quickly took hold.
