MessageHi there

I wonder if anyone can help me. I used to be in 3 Para Band between 1975 and 1980 before transferring out whilst the battalion was in Osnabruck to the RMP, for my sins!

My PRA membership number is 27152

I'm trying to trace Pete Stanton HQ company who used to be a very good friend of mine. The last time I saw him was at West Down Camp in 1988 or there about when the battalion was on exercise.

Steve Pratt (god rest his soul) informed me a few years ago that Pete was possibly a game keeper or estate manger now living in Scotland.

I wonder if anyone knows his whereabouts they could pass on my contact details to him please:

[email protected]

Greetings to anyone that remembers me from that period.

Best regards

Steve

MessageThank you to everybody who has phoned, emailed texted & sent facebook messages congratulating Nile on his outstanding performance at the Olympics in Rio and for him being the first British gymnast to get a medal in the High Bar which was Bronze. A fantastic achievement and an outstanding Olympics for Nile.

Thanks again, regards to all.

MessageRe the below message, gmail received also from Cris.

You don’t know me but I am hoping that you will remember a former comrade of 3 Para who served in the Falklands way back in ‘82.
After many years of non-communication, I got reacquainted with my brother Stephen James Playle for the first time last weekend but unfortunately he is but a mere shadow of the man I remembered back then. He has had bladder cancer and got the all-clear but I believe may now be in remission. He is a proud man and I’m not sure if he would be in favour of me getting in touch with you about membership but I thought it may do him a great deal of good to hear from others with whom he once served. He is very ill and seems constantly tired, and his appetite is bordering on the unhealthy. Getting in touch may just be the tonic he needs to restart his life because as you already know life on ‘the outside’ is no picnic!

I would appreciate any information you may have on my brother ‘Loafhead’ and his time with 3 Para and if you can help in any way you can no matter how insignificant.

God bless

MessageBattalion 75th Anniversary.
Back at the Reunion this was mentioned and it was muted that a event/open day would take place at Merville Barracks in early September.
I have contacted the battalion and they have confirmed that the 'open day' will not take place and there will only be a Families Day and Mess functions involving battalion personnel.
