MessageLooking for friends of Roger Chilton, b coy arms storeman early 60s. Anyone who has photos of him would they please forward them to me via email. Roger now lives in a care home it's a clean and pleasantly run place, staff are caring and committed. I intend to make a photo montage for him (and groups) just to remind everyone that he was-once was a warrior and not someone just to be dumped in front of a box with coulored pictures. Then produce a giant card, and have it delivered to the home. Hopefully this will remind him of happier times, when friends and comrades meant something. Apart from his daughter and grandson, the thee regular visitors are now in danger of needing visitations themselves. Despite repeated requests to the PRA for a visit going back nearly 9 months, all attempts have been met with a wall of silence. So much for the airborne brotherhood. Hopefully some one from the Birmingham branch of the PRA, will read this, and remind those in office that with the trappings of office comes RESPONSIBILITY.

MessageHello all.

My Dad served in 3 Para joining in/around 1964 as a boy soldier. He is 70 soon and i and family are trying to locate somebody he did P Company and spent first years with, Ivor Pringle. I believe Ivor was actually in 1 Para, and was a good footballer. Dad played in Army team too. I have found in an old newspaper from 2015 an article about an Ivor Pringle who had retired from the regiment after 32 years. This would match times. Can anybody advise on ways to get in touch with Ivor or if anybody knew my Dad, Graham Howe. Cheers.

The hotel rate will be the same as for members.
If you are interested, book them through Dave Dyson in the usual way.

MessageThere has been a VERY POOR response for bookings for the Blackpool Reunion.

So far, Dave Dyson has only received bookings from less than 50 members!
With the ladies added there would still only be just over 60 attending!!

These numbers make the Reunion financially unsustainable.

We have to commit to a considerably larger number (and the 2-night deal) in order to get the price that we have.

Crucially, early next month we have to give the hotel our booking list after which they start to sell off any remaining rooms – so if you haven’t done so, you need to BOOK NOW.

Incidentally, the Colonel Commandant, CO and RSM will be attending (together with a number of ORs from the battalion) and we would hope to avoid any embarrassment that there would be at the acres of space in the Washington Suite!

We need commitment from you all by return of this message (!) so that we can
confirm the booking at the hotel and get the deal.

At the last AGM it was unanimously agreed that we return to Blackpool. This will need to be seriously looked at if the bookings for the Reunion remain so low. So please make an effort to get your returns into Dave Dyson so that we, the Committee, can finalize the deal with the hotel and we can have the Reunion!!
