MessageWas stationed at the Air Defense Command SAGE unit with the missle branch from March 60 through August 63 lived off base in New Swanzy, remember the B52,s taking off over our house, we were almost a direct line from the end of the runway. In summer, remember the clean pine smell in the air. Winter, remember a snow drift covering my station wagon over night and the locals help digging it out in the morning so I could report to the base.

One of our planes with a SAGE officer on board went down in Superior during a training flight, they looked a long time for it with underwater gear, wonder if they ever found it?

Remember then Major John C Guftafson and then Capt. Allen B Engle from the SAGE missle group battle staff.

Open to hear from anyone

MessageStumbled on your site, but love to see you are keeping the "old ADC" alive. I do note that you guys took our squadron AND our a/c.....11th FIS, Duluth AFB and the 106.....but still good to see the Red Bull lives into history! God luck in all you are doing. Many folks (most) do not remember the "cold warriors" from ADC and have no idea of the a/c and mission. I keep hoping WINGS, or the MILITARY CHANNEL will have some special on the old ADC/SAGE days with the 102's and 106's
