| Message | I served in the 410th Maintenance Hydraulic Shop from 1962 - 1965. I have many great memories like playing blackjack on the shotgun truck. I returned for a visit in 2010 with one of my granddaughters...we marched on the tarmac as I did many years ago. |

| Message | I was stationed at KI with the 87th from 1971 to 1979, working in the avionics shop. I have many fond memories of the squadron, several TDY's to Tyndall and to Keflavik, including a William Tell in 1976. I am looking for anybody in the Com/Nav/Instrument shop that are still around. I was sad beyond belief when they closed the unit and base. Red Bulls Rule! |

| Message | I was assigned to the 410 FMS Corrosion Control Phase Dock from 1972-75. The base was great if you had a snowmobile in the winter. We loved the local for the closeness to Canada and the many parks. Beautiful area. Probably the most frustrating assignment I had in a 30 year career. Trying to wash and phase a B-52 or a KC-135 in two days or a day and a half was a ridiculous effort. I can count on one hand the number of successful phases we got graded on by QC. The immensity of the aircraft and the QC baseline ensured an "unsat" pretty much every time. That was a real morale buster for the crew chiefs and corrosion specialists assigned. One point that was really a head scratcher was scheduling a phase a month or two after the aircraft had just returned from a PDM facility with a complete going over and new paint job. We had to remove all the panels which had been newly sealed at the PDM after their inspection. An absolute waste of money and time. But that was SAC way back when. A great team that busted their butts every phase with little to show for it. I was glad to leave after 3 years of frustration. |
