MessageIt made NO difference to me where James Sr. sang. He always stayed true to his calling. The early recording are so precious. They were Heavenly created. So simple with the plane clear only piano backing them up. The current BWB should consider making a recording of a few of the old songs with just the piano. Maybe they figure it would not sell, w/o the complicated backgrounds used by all groups today. If they made they album and I had the money, I would buy every copy just to be able to give them away for all my friends to enjoy. Boys, consider a "simple" album.

MessageGreat info on James Sr. It is good to see The Blackwood Brothers as a true "Brothers" quartet once again!

MessageI first heard James, RW, Bill Lyles, Bill Shaw, and Jackie Marshall in concert in 1952. So many years have gone by. I have followed the quartet all these years and still enjoy their music. James brought the Gospel in song to many people and we knew that he and his group lived what they sang! I have a few records made during the days of Hilton Griswold; anybody remember him?

MessageI loved watching Terry Blackwood singing Heavenly Love and Bill Gaither mentioned he is from a legendary Blackwood family. Being new to this music I wanted to know abut them and it was wonderful to watch James Blackwood and at the same time I find out he is with the Lord now. Amazing history of singers, I am just glad that there are more in their family singing as Terry is and wonderfully singing... Thank you for your beautiful ministry through music which reaches even those of us who weren't there at that time...
