MessageTo the Family and Fans of James Blackwood:

Although many months have passed since Jimmy's
Promotion to Glory, I still am deeply touched
by the reality of it. I met Jimmy and the quartet
in Strawberry Point, Iowa, many years ago. They
were all a real blessing when I needed it. Jimmy
was a quality, gentleman Christian that showed love and compassion to me. Heaven is dearer to me
because he is there. I wait patiently to join him. Maybe he'll let me sing tenor along with
him, We'll sing How Great Thou Art.

MessageI never met James Blackwood but have truly enjoyed his music ministry. Really enjoy watching the Gaither videos which leave beautiful memories of him, especially the one where Jessy Dixon sings Lately I've Got Leaving On My Mind.

Thank you for the legacy.

MessageWith the Passing of James Blackwood, Vestal Goodman and jake hess, Gospel music will never be the same again, so I just listen to there music, theres is the kind of music that touches the Heart like none other has, I dont care for todays what they call todays contempory music, it just does not bless me and I feel empy when I hear it like something is missing, and I truly will miss them, thank you ..Carl Straight

Messagesmilie smilie Thw Blackwood Bros music has been an inspiration to me since I was a little boy.I saw them live in Nanaimo, B.C. Canada in the early '60's with Cecil. We've enjoyed all your records we have over the years. Southern Gospel Quartet music doesn't get much better than this. We have a Canada Gospel Celebration this Summer in Vancouver and there 17 groups coming. We would love to travel to your neck of the woods someday and see a Quartet Convention or maybe to a place like Branson.We will never forget that James Blackwood Sr. voice. God Bless!!
