| Message | Dear Mercer Family, I hope you guys are doing ok. I haven't been on here for a while so I just wanted to check on you. I still send my Love and Prayers out to you guys and Daniel. We all miss him very much. When I pray I always remember the good fight that Daniel fought. But the fight had to end whether it be good or bad, but if you think about it was a win/win situation because if he would've defeated his cancer then he would be able to come home. But if he didn't he is still with the lord and looking over you guys. We all miss him very much, but I'm sure not in comparison to you. My good friend Dennis sends out his prayers and blessings as well, even though he didn't know Daniel he still thought of him as a true inspiration after I told him Daniel's story. Just keep praying and he will stay with you until you get to the beautiful palace above us. With love,hope,and prayers I will always think of you guys. | Message | Well its me again. I was just wondering how your family was doing. Hopefully you have found some type of comfort in the fact the Daniel has passed. It is very hard to do that, but thats probably what Daniel would've wanted you to do. I'm sure that you have found some comfort. I have been praying and praying repeatedly for you guys. Even though Daniel isn't "here" he still is. So PLEASE try to find the comfort for you! We all still LOVE your family and Daniel very much. I will still continue to pray for you every single day! | Message | Mrs. Mercer and family, (I was a student of Mrs. Mercer's, graduating in '94) My sincere condolences to you all. I had tried to keep up with Daniel's condition through Sherri Pieper here at work,(I'm a nurse at St. Francis) but I had not spoke to her for a couple of weeks. My older sister Jennifer had called and told me of Daniel's passing. I was so sorry to hear of your loss. My father passed of colon cancer this past December. He had battled this since 1999. I can empathize with some of what you must have been through, although nothing compares to the grief of losing a child. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God Bless, Jessica Kinslow |

He must have been a remarkable young man to have touched so many lives. He fought the good fight and in the end he did win - eternal life in heaven. | Message | Dear Mercer Family, I know that this is a very TOUGH time for you guys.I'm sure that Daniel is the LIGHT  in your tunnel of darkness and is as sweet as ice cream on a sunny day if not sweeter. But I do know what it is like to have sit there and suffer with someone you LOVE very much! For the past two years my very strong cousin has been fighting and suffering through a disease called muscular - dystrophe. It is very hard to see them fighting for their life each and every day. But even though you can't physically see Daniel he is still with you each and every day looking down and smiling at you in the Lord's home. It is also very hard to understand what I am about to say, but Daniel is in a much better place now where he dosen't have to suffer and fight for his life each and every day. The Lord in the heavans above us has a plan for all of us and the Lord has decided to call Daniel home! As in 2 Kings 20:20-21 "Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah-all his might, and how he made a pool and a tunnel and brought water into the city-are they not written in the book of the chronicles of th kings of Judah? So Hezekiah rested with his fathers. Then Manasseh his son reigned in his place." I hope you understand the meaning of the scripture above. I hope you know that this whole town loves your family! | Message | Hi I just want to say that Daniel Has been a good friend through out the years and I really Miss him dearly! And I think That everyone else in the Family too. He was such a good person and made EVERYONE Smile. I know he will be missed and he is loved by many. I know this is going to be rough but, Hey things happen. And hes in such a better place now. | Message | Dear Jeff and family: I was stunned and saddened when I read about Daniel in the paper. I remember him coming to the Center Grove Reds practices with you.
