MessageDear Jimmy,
Thank you so much, for carrying on, when others might have given up, or failed, or changed their courses, in life. Your ministry and music help others to stay in the service of the Lord.
I have listened to my dad's collection of old Blackwood Bros and Statesmen albums until they were more scratch than record. He was such a big fan of your dad, as I am, and I find your family's musical testimony inspires me to write, to sing, and to do childrens puppet ministries, even to this day. I always loved "The Devil Cant Harm A Praying Man", and" Oh Thou Blessed Rock Of Ages", particularly that harmony, at the end, best.I had searched for years, to find the words for "Every Day Will Be Sunday By And By" and when I finally met your dad, at a Masters 5 concert, I was too awed, by his kindness, to ask him what the words for saturday were? Only two weeks ago, after searching for parts of 4 decades; a group named Jericho, whose lead singer knew your dad, finally sang the song, at a concert. Afterward, he told me what the song said.It was such a blessing, to finally come full circle with that.
Just want to say thank you again, Jimmy. for all you and your family have done, to shine for Jesus, across the years. You are ALL my heroes.
PS.Your dad only came up to my chin, when we were taking pictures together, but in my heart, he will always be a Giant of the faith. Thanks again for leding him and his voice to us, for so much of your life.
God bless you
Steve Grant.

MessageHello Jimmy,

I ran into Ray Price and the Blackwood Legacy on 12-01-07 down here in Houston,Tx at their concert.

They are sure doing a fine job singing the music that your Father and Family brought to the Gospel Music Arena.

Ray told me you were touring again and I just wanted to drop you a line and say that I have been praying for you and your family ever since we met in a 2003 concert you did for our church which is "The Church Of the Resurrection" in Galena Park,Tx you really inspired me as a gospel music singer and your voice and songs ministered to me in a very special way that day a day I will never forget.

I hope you get down to Houston next year I will be looking forward to going where ever you are nearest to houston to see and hear you again.

May God richly bless you, your family and your group.

In Gods Grace,

Rev.Mike Cotter

Messageoh, How I miss hearing James at concerts.....there's never been a gospel singer quite like him....and, there never will be another with his talent and dedication. Thank goodness I was around to enjoy his music and performances, because we are certainly lacking good southern gospel quartets now~!

MessageTO JIMMY:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAMES, JR. I almost forgot!

BTW - Just recently found an almost mint copy of an old RCA Victor album - "PORTER WAGONER with THE BLACKWOOD BROS. Had forgotten about that album.

I used to play cuts from it when I was on KDRS in Paragould, AR, about a century and a half ago. From the 60s. Big John Hall was singing bass.

I can't play it, though. Don't have a turntable. How's that...? An old Disc Jockey with no turntable!!!

Take care, My Friend.

MessageI've loved your music here in Kentucky ever since I was just a child of about 4 years old; I'm now 46. You performed some of my uncle, Jim Niehoff, songs, and I still have the songbooks to pass along to my daughters.
Your family has been an inspiration to so many and I'm glad The Blackwood Brothers are still around even today.

MessageJimmy, you and the group are doing a great job and I believe you are a fine man - with a wonderful ministry. We are working hard to have a great concert up here in kingston, NY September 29 '07. I believe many people in this area are in for a refreshing surprise as they hear this style of music and it's message. The former couriers are working hard and my brothers are practicing. I want folks to know your solo CD is great also

Sincere appreciation for being you

MessageHello James, I have LOVED the Blackwood Brothers all my life, and I'm 62, lol. I grew up listening to them at home, as my momma loved you too. She's waiting in Heaven for us all. Would love to know how I could get some of the "old" LP's on CD's, do you sell them? I really love the old songs best, but old to me being from the 50's on till now. May our God richly bless you and your families. Keep on "keeping on"...GBU. Joanne smilie smilie
