| Message | Joined PO in Middlesbrough early 70's. Left through ill health in late 80's. Did first jointing course in Otley, then Manchester and Trunk and Junction back in Otley. I did two weeks in of cable pressure fault finding in Edinburgh. And my favourite 2 weeks in Bletchley Box Building. For a couple of years I drove an old box building wagon. It was an old safety cab with Hiab crane. It was so old and cold in the winter life was a misery. I think if my memory serves me the Reg was JY0 876D. For some time I have been searching for an image of the old Box Builder just to remind me of the hard times. Met lots of good people who should have been promoted and never were. Got to say my time spent with PO then BT was my worst career move. |

| Message | Fond memories. If I could have back any of the jobs I've ever done it would be being a T2A Subs App and Line Mtce engineer in the late 70's/early 80's. No Commer for me - it was a Bedford HA110. Although I did drive a Commer a few times when my van was being serviced. |
