Message	It saddens me that the closest neurosurgeon is in IA or IL and I live in MO. Not to say I wouldn't travel but it would be nice to stay at home. I'm considering decompression surgery.

Message	OMG... I've learned so much from your site in just one evening. Thanks to insomnia and anxiety... I was looking up symptoms and stumbled on this great site. Last winter, I just so happened to read my MRI report and saw the mention of the 5 and 3 tonsil herniations and the mild chiari malformation recommendation that of course my own Neurologist blew off as asymptomatic. Prescribed me Topamax for migraines and told me to see my rhuematologist and ordered tons of blood work convinced to find another culprit. It's been a rough 3 years since since I was rear ended in a car accident. I'm 40 years old and I spend most of my time in bed. Once I try to do anything of any excitement the headaches, tingling, body pain, weakness, dizziness and nausea kicks in. I rest til it's better and try again... Sometimes in a hour or so... Or a few days or weeks... This is the pits!!!! But I'm still here and LIFE goes on.

Message	Diagnosed with Intracranial Hypertension in 2012.. Diagnosed with Chiari type 1 in 2014. Diagnosed with Ehler's Danlos Syndrome Type 3 in 2015. I have not been decompressed yet and do not have any shunts or stents as of now. Still searching for a neurosurgeon who understands Chiari, IH, and EDS as a whole.

Message	I have chiari type 1. I was diagnosed in 2009 at age 34. I have since had 2 decompression surgeries,and craniplasty. I have also developed hydrocephalus as a result of chiari,and have had 7 shunts so far.My current shunt is an "internal"shunt.

Message	This disorder has me at the end of my rope and I feel like I'm walking around with an awful hangover and still slightly drug and losing my balance. I have had decompression surgery in 2009 and my symptoms are returning with a vengeance. I went to see my neurosurgeon the other day and they opened up my VP shunt, and now I have the added symptom of sound sensitivity. Is there anyone else out there like me? How do you cope?
