I had seen American Violet may be a month ago, hadn't seen the beginning until last night with my wife who was eager for to see it and I told her I did see it (February 23, 2011). This time I really paid more attention when you see the beginning and that this was based on a real life experience. This is my passion to help people with equal justice under the law. | Message | It amazes me that your story isn't as known as it should be. I watched the movie last night and was appalled that the DA was reelected! Is he still in office? I pray for your family and hope that you realize that your fight saved many lives to come. You are a chapter in African American history. Be well. |

Its crazy that after all these years and all these changes, in many ways things haven't changed much at all. But i'm glad you stood up for what's right. | Message | I just saw the movie "American Violet" on BET tonight. I was really impressed with your courage, determination and dedication throughout your ordeal. I hope you are able to get your book published and also finish your education one day. I hope you are also able to acquire work soon also. You are a strong role model for your daughters and they will remember what you have done for them. It is sad that you had to leave your hometown; but I totally understand. At least you are still in Texas; but a bigger city. I wish you and your daughters nothing but peace, love, prosperity and all good that life has to offer !!! Take care and Best wishes. |

| Message | I just watched the movie about your story, "American Violet" and was enraged and moved to tears that something like that could happen! I respect you SO much for your decision to not accept the plea and to stand up for the truth, even though it was the most difficult thing to do. I truly don't know if I could have been as strong as you. You are an inspiration and I wish that everyone could hear your story and see the atrocities of the justice system in America. I am recommending the movie to everyone I know! |

| Message | all i can say is thank god for you. im truly sorry what you went thru but im a firm believer in that god uses us for many reasons just like he's using me now. im a cancer and diabetic patient and i suffer from neuropathy. sometimes i want to give up because my life as i used to know is over. i live for my newly grandaughter and to see my daughter graduate from college this may. i've been arrested for something i didn't do and spent 4 days in jail and it was the worst week of my life. i can only imagine what you went thru. im going thru a rough time right now but i trust that god would see me thru it all. i come to texas a lot on buisness. i've been to hearne a few times and never knew nothing about this until i bought the movie.i will love to meet you one day, maybe on one of your appearences. take care and god bless you. |
