MessageLovely site! And I look forward to the book.

As an addendum for your reference re: Woodlawn House, Co Galway.
It is popular local lore that there are 365 windows in the house.
In the grounds of Woodlawn House Atropa belladonna, or Deady Nightshade grows wildly. There are only 7 or 8 other locations where it grows in the wild in the entire country. This is a botanical fact that is probably known only to myself, having an interest in natural history and discovering it there some years ago. Unfortunately since the restoration works began a few years ago (they seem to have halted recently) most of the plant has been cut away; a tiny area remains at present...who knows for how long.

MessageHi, congratulations on the website and the book. I have always been fascinated by old mansions, houses, castles, churches and churchyards since I was a child.
I grew up within a stone's throw of some of the Wexford houses - Castleboro, Coolbawn, Wilton, Macmine - and was pleased to see them included and that Castleboro made it onto the book cover.
I will certainly buy the book when it comes out and look forward to it.
I would like to say I thought it very good you included Our Lady's, St. Kevin's and the Sunday's Well Laundry in Cork to give the public a glimpse of the interior and think about the past. (While I grew up in Wexford and my family still lives there I work in Cork city so am particularly interested in these two counties).
I wish you the best with the book and look forward to more on the website.
Best regards
Phillip O'Brien

MessageAn astonishingly excellent place to while away an hour or two, captivated by excellent photography and VR.
My grandad was born 1849 (true!) in Skool Bog, Ballynagarde, and must have known the Big House
in it's heyday.
Keep up the good work,
Slan,
Pat Kirby
