MessageExellent website. I was a member of An Slua Muiri for 5 years and was stationed in Fort Camden, Co. Cork. It brought back happy memories. I hope the County Council will start refurbishing soon. It will cost a fortune, but in the long run will pay out as a tourist attraction.

Regards from Germany,

Dommy

MessageYour imagery evoke emotions of sadness and beauty all at once. Each building you've shown I feel has a sense of place and purpose now long gone.

What's scary is that a lot of these dwellings are sitting idle pre the celtic tiger and now that it has roared they haven't a hope in hell of being salvaged or refurbished.

What a terrible pity such beautiful heritage is allowed to fall into ruin like this. A mortal sin if you ask me. smilie smilie smilie

MessageLoved your photos of Dublin's Boland's Mill, as one of my great uncles fought alongside Eamon De Valera in 1916 there. It really is a shame to see a lot of beautiful architecture left to rot and be reclaimed by nature.

MessageWas standing on the front steps of williamstown house last saturday with my daughter and son in law. My son in law is from that area so he was able to take us threw the feilds , ditches and electric fences to reach the house. I could see the house as it was in its hay day and convinced myself i could see the front steps been scrubbed and carriges arriving for the ball because im sure thats what happened in its day. I was looking up williamstown house when i came across your site. I love spending time in old ruins and gate lodges and from now on every chance i get to sit down on the computer il check up your site. Well done. smilie
