MessageMichael Sullivan and Teresa Thompson were married in
Lumpkin County Georgia in 1843. I do not find any other records for them in Lumpkin County. Do not find them in the 1850 census. Michael and Teresa or

and 1870 Census. In the 1880 Cherokee County census
Teresa is listed as a wd age 69. Michael is from Ireland.

MessageI was looking for my ancestors. I think these Jarrards are from another line. I believe my grandfather was in Lumpkin county when he was young. His name was Presley Jacob Jarrard. I know his mother's name was Callie. He had brothers named Ransey and Clinton.

MessageI understand from speaking with the author of the book "To Honor These Men" A history of the Phillips Georgia Legion Infantry Battalion. Kurt D. Graham. The 3 Brothers Samuel, Anson and Barney Jones deserted the CSA and fought out the remainder of the war fighting for the North.(A Federal Calvalry unit out of Nashville Tenn.) They were convinced by a member of the Tate Family an abolitionist preacher.... Samuel was my great, great grandfather. [email protected].

MessageJust a little hint that might help you. Take a can of shaving cream with you on your cemetery walk. Place a small amount on the stone, spread over the stone and scrape off with a credit card ( I use a index card). You will be shocked at how much easier names and date are to read and photograph. Stones that were unreadable suddenly are. This will NOT hurt the gravestones.
