MessageMy Dearest Bryce,

A couple nights ago I was watching movies at a friend’s house and he and I began to talk about you and the situation you were put into. He told me his opinion is that, “It is one thing to put someone into one of these camps that is questioning their sexuality, but it is quite another to put someone in there that has experienced true love and happiness.” He went on to say, “They may be successful at brainwashing someone that has never loved, but it is going to be very hard to do that to someone who knows the feeling of being in love.” This is why I know you will come out as a survivor. Because you know what it feels like to be in love and to be happy, and no one even had to tell you who to love, you figured it out on your own. Continue to stay strong as will I so that you will come out a survivor.

Love Always,

Travis

MessageMy Dearest Bryce,

Another weekend begins and you are still not free to be with your friends and the people who love you for exactly who you are and the way you were born. These are the people that you should be surrounding yourself with, the ones what say, “I want to be your friend because I like you just the way you are” and not the one that say, “I only want to be your friend if you will become something you’re not” You know exactly who you are and how you feel on the inside and no amount of uncertified and unlicensed therapy can ever change that. Stay strong for love and for the person you know you are.

Love Always,

Travis

MessageMy Dearest Bryce,

Today I went to a comedian on campus and he said something in his skit that (like everything else) made me think about you and the situation you were forced into. He said, “I don’t hate G-d, but I hate religion. I hate religion because religious people go around preaching how they know G-d’s word, exactly what s/he meant when it was said, and how it applies to the world today” then he went on to say, “how arrogant can one person be? To think that they hold all the answers and know exactly what G-d means and anyone else with a different view must be wrong”. I think this is true about where you are at, these people are telling you their interpretation of G-d’s word which may or may not be right, but they are saying it is right, how arrogant and insulting to G-d? Hopefully one day soon all these people can see that error in their way and recognize people like you and I, and everyone as just people instead of insisting on passing judgment on us. I promise to never give up.

Love Always,

Travis

MessageMy Dearest Bryce,

Today the Wisconsin Supreme Court made the decision that they would not hear a case saying that our Domestic Partnership Law is unconstitutional. This is yet another sign that we are on the right side of history and the climate is becoming more and more favorable for LGBT people across this country. As we move toward a world free from the prejudices you are experiencing in your life. I know soon all LGBT people including you will be free from religious brainwashing and oppression. This is only the beginning. We still have a lot of work to do, but we will get there. Our story has influenced and motivated people all around the world and it will continue to as we move forward.

Love Always,

Travis

MessageMy Dearest Bryce,

Today in Madison so many supporters packed the courtroom full that they had to open an overflow room. As time goes on more and more people are becoming supportive of the LGBT rights movement and I know for sure that I can safe that I am on the RIGHT side of history on this movement. I know that you are also on the right side of history and soon will be free to be yourself and the person that G-d created. Never give up.

Love Always,

Travis

MessageMy Dearest Bryce,

This semester my Monday’s seem to be just as long as you know my Tuesday’s are. Tonight I am going to bed again early as I will be heading to Madison in the morning to the Wisconsin Supreme Court listen to oral arguments in a case that could invalidate a constitutional amendment restricting marriage to one man and one woman only. If won, this case would be ground breaking nationwide. I know in the next 10-15 years we will see marriage equality in all 50 states, it’s just a matter of time until it happens and the religious right knows they are fighting a losing battle. I promised you 100 time and I will continue to promise you that I will never give up this fight, you will lead the way until you are free to speak for yourself.

Love Always,

Travis

MessageBryce,

You've been on my mind a lot this past week for several reasons. For one the protest of Exodus this past weekend, two, the upcoming meeting this week of ldsapology.org with the leaders of the Mormon church on behalf of us LGBT Mormons and in protest of there reparative program, Evergreen Int. Both of which had me recalling my 4 years of psychiatric therapy and counseling in the church to "pray away the gay".

Most of all you were on my mind because chances are I'll be moving to little Cabot Arkansas in March. I know because of my family there, my brothers job in the Air Force, and of course it being Arkansas, that I'm going to have to be less vocal about who I am. Because I love and respect them I'm willing to do that, but I'm not willing to deny who I am. I'm proud of who I am and know that God loves me as I am.

I pray that when all is said and done you are able to love and respect your family, and they you. Most of all I pray that you are able to be true to yourself and not deny who you are. That you are able to love yourself as I know God loves you.
