I really learned alot about Apollo 11 and the Moon Race. The reporters are a real hoot. thanks for a wondeful film and I hope to see Moon Beat on NOVA or one of the PBS shows. People need to see and remember those great days of Apollo 11 and going to the moon.  |

| Message | As an avowed "space cadet" and now grown-up NASA fan, I recently purchased the Moon Beat movie and was very pleased. Lately, the weather has been nasty and the news depressing, so I watched this remarkable little documentary and was really impressed. The film is well-done, but short on Hollywood-style special effects. However, it makes up for it with an amazing cast of many of the news reporters who wrote about the space race. Also, a few big-time NASA veterans including Jack King, the legendary announcer for so many NASA countdowns. He wrote the book and set the standard for countdown excitement. But the thing that amazed me was that the film covers the highpoints from the Mercury days right up to Apollo 11, with the reporters telling the story and sharing some anecdotes along the way. Alot of amazing NASA footage is included and really is beautiful to see again. In the end I was wistful for those days and grateful for President Kennedy in setting the goal of going to the moon. What a remarkable achievement even now after all these years. I am very happy that I bought the Moon Beat DVD and would highly recommend it for anyone interested in learning about the space race years and Apollo 11. Well done Moon Beat. |

| Message | Finally! The honest, real story of America's Journey to the Moon. I love journalists and I think they and newspapers are a dying breed in our society. They are fascinating and almost always quickly forgotten by the reader. To me, they are part Columbo, the investigator; part nerds (facts, figures and obscure details); part Quixote, always searching for truth and lofty ideals and part Hemingway, the storytellers. Yes, I am so looking forward to watching Moon Beat, and hearing what these old time new reporters have to say about the space race! Thanks Moon Beat and what's next?? MG  |

| Message | Hello, I purchased the Moon Beat film and found it fascinating and a little bittersweet. It was fun reliving the go-go 1960s and the NASA's missions. And I thought it was interesting to listen to the reporters share some of their memories and personal stories. And it was very exciting to experience the Apollo 11 launch and landing and of course, Neil Armstrong's first steps onto the moon. And all of those happy memories made me a little sad about where our space program is today. So, overall, I enjoyed seeing Moon Beat give it a thumbs up! Diana R., Florida |

| Message | Greetings: Bravo Moon Beat! A friend of mine (a NASA geek) sent me the link and information about this film months ago but I never got around to reviewing it. However, I was able to attend the recent screening of Moon Beat at the JFK Presidential LIbrary and enjoyed seeing Moon Beat. This film brings back many memories and evokes a sense of national purpose while tracing the various missions and events leading to the successful flight of Apollo 11. I must say, I particularly enjoyed the reporter interviews and their stories about the missions and their memories...loved NASA's Jack King too with his story about what he did the night before the launch of Apollo 11 (won't ruin it for those who have not seen the film). Also, I must commend the film's director, Kevin Stirling, for stitching these journalist interviews together to tell the broader story of America's space race. Nicely done and very interesting. All in all, a very enjoyable film and one that I would recommend for serious documentary film fans. Good Luck Moon Beat! WJD |

| Message | I saw this amazing film in Boston at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and it was well worth it. Moon Beat really makes a point of the emphasizing the special connection President Kennedy and the ultimate success of Apollo 11 and the first manned lunar landing. The interviews with the news reporters who were there from the beginning really help to differentiate Moon Beat from other space films and give it a sense of authenticity. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Moon Beat and was delighted to see the screening in the wonderful venue of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. Thank you for bringing this important documentary about President Kennedy to Boston. It was very enjoyable and a top rate film that I would recommend to others. Sincerely, Carol P.S. | Message | Hi, Caught the Moon Beat screening at JFK Library and it was great. Fascinating idea for a film and very interesting. The interviews with the journalists were very well done. This film really belongs in high school classrooms and should be a must-see for aspiring reporters. I bought 2 Moon Beat DVDs (Christmas gifts!) Lots of great memories, stories and lessons there from these science writers and scribes. Kudos for a film well-done! LV in MA |

| Message | I just belatedly learned about this wonderful new documentary the other day, and eagerly await the DVD copy I ordered today. I am a science journalist who is soon, with luck, finishing a PhD journalism program at the University of Maryland, looking at the history of TV space coverage, focusing mostly on Special Events, documentary, and public affairs broadcasts, with particular emphasis on CBS News. In May 2005, I finished a UMCP master's thesis called "Televising the Space Age" (available free via the Internet). For decades, I have very much wanted to see the underappreciated behind-the-scenes story of how the most important news story ever to take place has been covered to be well-preserved in books, articles, and documentaries. I am delighted to learn of the Kevin Stirling documentary "Moon Beat" as a terrific enduring contribution to that endeavor. | Message | Hello, I heard about your Moon Beat DVD from a friend in San Diego who was at the screening last month. She told me that she and her guest enjoyed the film. I must say, what an interesting film idea. I am an indie filmmaker (mostly shorts) and was very intrigued with the subject matter as well as the way your film includes the actual newspaper reporters who covered NASA. Nice touch.
