MessageWe've been to the castle after my husband had working in the area for a construction company and discovered it. We went back and WOW! I am in awe! It's exactly what I would love to live in - haunted or no. I think I was born in the wrong era, lol. We have wonderful photos and I think of the castle every Spring/Summer. What a peaceful place. Kindness to all that share the same thoughts, Kim

MessageI accidentally ran across your website while researching my Dundas ancestry. Your site is keenly interesting to me because I have been unable to trace back my Dundas line any further than John D. Dundas, my great-grandfather. John was an orphan, after much research I found John, aged two, in a US census, in an orphanage in New York.

Until now I have been unaware of the existence of the Dundas Castle in New York. However, I had the wonderful opportunity to explore the old 14th century original Dundas Castle near Edinburgh.

I will be keeping a close eye on your website in hopes of discovering clues as to the story behind my great grandfather, John D. Dundas, and how he was orphaned.

If you happen to run across John in your research please forward it to my personal email. I have been seeking information for more than 10 years and would greatly appreciate any crumbs you can send my way.

Kind regards,

Jacqueline Enman

MessageWent and checked the castle out over the 3 day weekend. The locals say that people do poach illegally. Some folks who live on the road that goes behind it suggested that it was not a good idea. In the winter is the best time to see it cuz there are no leaves hiding it. They say you can get tours for a price. Please do not hold me to the accuracy of that!

MessageI would be very willing to relocate to the area and put my time and money into fixing this place up to the way it used to be. Do you know if the current owners are willing to negotiate?
