| Message | Just want to let you and Andy know (we went to h.s. together) that I for some reason or another checked your blog today to see the disheartening news. My thougths and prayers are with you and your family during this extremely difficult time, I can't imagine to understand the grief that you all are feeling. Please know taht your story is incredible and there are many unknowns behind you that are supporting your family silently while you grieve. | Message | Heather, Yes, it is so difficult to "realize" how disabled our SMA kids are. I had a similar moment when looking at Addie in the kidkart when she was about 9 months old. But it is a wonderful thing that you have learned to see past it and through it. Isn't this the beauty of the parent-child bond? To "see" your amazing child and all he can do (I know he colors..I have seen his work!); not the things that he lacks. Hope you continue to take advantage of this great walking weather. | Message | Heather, Owen and Family, It is always hard to adjust to new meds and new formulas. It is frustrating when changes made don't seem to help the problem. It is amazing how enormous the problem of digestion is with SMA kids. This was one of our biggest battles. Somedays it boggles my mind to watch healthy kids chow down on mac and cheese and milkshakes when our sick kids can barely be comfortable with partially digested formulas. As always, you have continued to take things in stride and make changes to benefit Owen and keep him happy. May his gut start to be happier too! Hang in there and good luck on your visit to Boston. Kim and the gang PS. LOVE the pool pictures. Addie is sure to be smiling down on your pool time! |
