| Message | Hi Daniel, Just sent a note, but headed it Bus 4, instead of Bus 2 (what was I thinking!) so I hope it gets to you. The biggest news in the note: Ana coming in September to DC! In sports news, Cubs are 1 1/2 games back from Milwaukee; they lost yesterday to Houston (5 to 2). And you have probably heard about Bonds breaking Aaron's record (against the Nats no less). The LA Galaxy is playing the United tomorrow (Thursday), but it's uncertain (probably doubtful, according to the today's paper) that Beckham will play -- still recovering from injury to this left leg. Anyway it sounds like you guys are going to be having a great time over the next few days. I hope that you will get to swim in the Red Sea as well as the Dead Sea. The party on the Disco boat sounds like a lot of fun. By the time you get this message you will already have hiked up Masada, I hope you enjoyed the experience and took lots of pictures. I am sure that you loved the Bedouin food, I know how you like Middle Eastern dishes. I think the whole family is coming up to Chicago to pick you up, we are all really excited to see you, even Emily said that 8 weeks without seeing you was a really long time. I signed you up for the ACT prep course at Central, it is only in the afternoons from 2:30-4:00 so you will still get to sleep in and have time to goof off a bit before school starts. | Message | Hello Daniel, Hope you are doing well and enjoying this last week. I've just read the blog, and the activities sound great. We got a call from Ana last night -- she is planning a trip to the US and hopefully will be spending three days with us in September! It will be great to see her. I am planning on taking Thursday (tomorrow) and Friday off. As I mentioned in an earlier note, Dad and I may go out of town Friday and Saturday, but we will have course have cell phones with us. | Message | What a delight to get your completely unexpected call last night as we were drifting off to sleep. I imagined you arriving at Masada and making the long hike to the top as the sun rose. It must have been both beautiful and moving, if not a little tiring. (I suspect you didn't get too much sleep in the tents). Eilat should be fun. Dad and I went there on our honeymoon. We actually stayed in Taba, which is now part of Egypt. We had a great time. It sounds like they are packing in a lot of activity for your last few days. Try to get some sleep on the plane! I was listening live on the internet down here in Australia. Not clear anyone else here cares. Apparently it was only about 20 minutes after you got off the phone with Mommy, so you were almost there, sort of ... Saw a real kangaroo last night, and ate part of one's leg the night before.
