Message	I have met Hank a few times last time I met him I asked him to sign the shads first lp and also his first lp the one with Carol his wife on the cover and Carol was with him so also signed I bought the fender strat signature and also the burns 50th anniversary shade guitar not that I can play just to hang on the wall

Message	As a 64year old i remember Hank and the Shadows and the beautiful sound he got from that strat.why then is he not in the so called BBC top 100 guitarists when so many of them say that their biggest influence was Hank.I think the BBC should have a very close look at themselves.If it was"nt for Hank many of us probably would never have picked up the guitar.So well done to him for making so many of us happy,it makes no difference to us if we play his music on our own or at gigs so long as its his music we are playing were happy.And where would Cliff have been without the SHADOWS.

Message	Hi Niels, A great site, Hank is the reason many of us including me wanted to play the guitar. Was there ever a better Stratocaster colour than Fiesta Red? I don't think so! Trying to get Hank's sound has been something I have been trying to do for over 30 years, but with the Vox Tonelab and VT amplifiers, I can get quite close to it. I may enjoy other styles of music but I always come back to playing along to the UB Hank backing tracks! Matt
