| Message | Dear “Blokey-Bloke”, Thanks for your uplifting comments on my artwork and other content of my site. Please reconsider closing all your e-mail accounts! Why not keep one of the many free accounts out there on the Net, if only to be able to post comments at Google blogs? I've always tremendously enjoyed the extra insight and perspective you've had to offer into whatever subject has been at issue, and am afraid your comments won't reach our visitors, most of whom might read the comments, but not the guestbook section. If you do give up email for good, you also wouldn't be able to contact my fastmail account for private discussions (I don't trust the “private” blogger facility since it might easy to circumvent/break through by the prying eyes of a hacker or computer-savvy busybody). | Message | (part two) Apart from your good self, Ram, Seamus, Vinz of Nestor Gallery, Guibo and a couple of other notable exceptions, there are few brave enough to assert the notion that twenty somethings; - are not beautiful folk to the exclusion of all others - that mature men earn their good looks and character from a life of work, experience and often hardship - and that the sight of the twinkle of an old salt's eye in the face of adversity or in the throes of passion is a moving thing indeed. May I live to see your artwork categorised alongside the likes of Tom of Finland. I believe it has already earned a place there. The way your style is becoming refined and yet you manage to illustrate a variety of races and occupations where others favour one "type" of subject is to be respected. I'll shut up now in case your head swells... | Message | A SORT OF FAREWELL... ...although you can't get me by email from now on, I will still be surfing by to enjoy your work Dean. For as long as this Guestbook functions it will be the sole means that I will have of contacting you since I am giving up email for good and will not be able to use those forums where a validated email address is required. I get little use from email especially when I consider how much use the spam originators get by contrast! If you would like to contact me by snail mail however you may request a postal address from me via this guestbook and I will use the "private" facility to supply it to you. I will take this opportunity to thank you for your work. It reaches depths both in artwork and reading matter that I have not seen on any other site where homosexuality is discussed. It goes to show that despite the appearance given by countless "Himbo" sites there are thinking men amongst us fellow homosexuals. It ain't all fluff and feathers! | Message | I been an admire of your work for a few years now, never knowing you had a blog or spot on the web, recently, on my flickr page I saw one of your drawings and asked if anyone knew about your work and where I could find it, well in less than 3 hours I got your blog spot address. I imagine Grimbridge to be one of those guys who is hairy ALL OVER, yet for some reason fails to notice the sexy effect his hirsute body and tough-guyism are having on the men around him.  Breaking down the invisible barriers set up by such men is (a major) part of the excitement, as is making such fantasies visible in a drawing. Great to hear you share those fantasies, too. I've always loved Canada (and also envy the incredible progress your country has made re human rights, especially when compared to the U.S.). Am pleased to see you enjoy both the artwork and the history section. The blog might appear a bit chaotic due to the range of GLBT subjects I've been bringing up lately, but I do think it important to share not just my drawings, but this sense of common history, with all those who visit this site. On a deeper level, this "connectedness" with other cultures and eras due to a shared heritage of oppression and resistance is empowering. Although you're relatively new to the Internet, how did you manage to stumble across my blog so quickly, or was it a deliberate search?
