(Heaven perhaps?)One other thing....you are becoming more and more like those men that you draw (and that is meant as the highest of compliments!) | Message | Hi Steve! Do hope the worst is over and you're recuperating from that awful head cold. My lover Jörg's been struggling with a nasty bout of diarrhea for the entire past week and empathizes with what you've been going through over the holidays. (Serious, now!)  ))The headmaster WILL appear in a future drawing, as the fantasy's appealing to me as well. Once the vision's materialized in a first outlined sketch, the rest is usually easy. Several visitors have asked if I will continue posting new drawings in 2010. Of course I will! This two-month break was due to my having concentrated all my efforts on gathering personal (or public) material on the Fall of the Berlin Wall for the 20th-anniversary theme (which is of crucial importance to me and enjoys top priority, exceeding the posting of any of my artwork). ----------Nevertheless, I am presently doing finishing touches on a brand-new drawing which should be posted by early January, at the latest.. | Message | Dear Blokey-Bloke, There are countless software programs out there that make working with Windows and browsing/surfing the web a cinch for the visually impaired; surely there are ones that are able to magnify those particular sections of a website the user wishes to see in more detail! You'll have to contact me some other way to get Fukosik's e-mail address... As you can see, I've begun fiddling around a bit with HTML code, tweaking bits and pieces here and there, creating a new background, for instance, for my old blogger template, as well as placing a new favicon (the rose-smelling "To Sir With Love" teacher) next to the URL. It will take a while, though, to find out how to place the History and Religion/Homosexuality sections in separate folders, with one single change of HTML code, if possible (I shudder at the thought of having to re-post each single pic or piece of text, as you had initially suggested!). | Message | WATER BUFFALO I have rediscovered how much fun swimming is. In order to avoid losing all condition as I approach my fifties, I have been swimming three times a week. After two months, I am much more fit. Of course, to benefit I must discipline myself to about 40 minutes of consistent swimming (never touching the bottom, only the ends of the pool at each lane reversal). After that, I enjoy a bit of swimming just for the sheer pleasure of it. During the early morning sessions, I have met many senior men who have been exercising for similar reasons for many years. It shows on their physique both in the pool and in the showers. This is how I want to be when I am of retirement age. Even if I remain above the recommended body mass index for my height, I'd still like to be able touch my toes or maintain a bit of effort when called upon. Clearly these men still have good cardio-vascular systems and the resulting stamina to maintain enjoyment of the more physical side of living. Some have become swimming buddies where we keep pace with each other for as long as suits. I have had much work to do to bring myself to the point where I can maintain pace even with the slower ones. Having done so however means that I have finally found a form of exercise that is good for both my body and my soul. That there are some sexy looking water buffalo there too is a bonus! It puts me in mind of Fukosik's "swimmer" photos that I can no longer access. >^..^< B E Bloke |

| Message | Cheers Dean, I agree that Firefox is an excellent browser... I have been using it to the exclusion of many others for some time now. When I use its inbuilt facility to magnify your web-pages on the hardware that I use to browse the 'net) by pressing "Ctrl" and scrolling up or down to adjust the extra layer of latency slows down the overall experience and makes navigation a hit or miss affair. I'd hate to think how bad the problem might be if I was doing something similar with I.E. (sssss!) Although I wear spectacles I have no real sight difficulties. The detail on your historical documents means that magnification is quite often desirable if not actually necessary. Incidentally, I do voluntary work with partially sighted and blind folk so I am perhaps more "picky" as a consequence. Many thanks for devoting your time to looking at this (relatively) minor problem for me. I will be visiting your pages less now that we are looking at the final phase of our house move. Towards Spring of next year, I hope to have established better communications hardware and service providers in our new home. I also have plans to use a temporary email addressing system to shake off the spam jockeys who manage to ride my service provider's inbox at every opportunity. This should mean that I can participate again in the comments sections of your blog and indeed we can re-stablish private comms if you so wish. Best wishes to you and J >^..^< B E Bloke |

| Message | Hello Blokey-Bloke, Babe Ruth really IS a cutie, isn't he? (He apparently enjoyed the ride, all his cussing and screaming notwithstanding.) Re: The 19th-c. Hand: Pythonesque? Perhaps. Late-60s-Beatles-esque? Perhaps. Whatever the case: yes, yes, yes, it's deliberate!Re the troubles you've been having viewing the videos (and long picture loads) at my blog. Why not test the Mozilla Firefox browser (the latest version, 3.5.4, of course)? I haven't been having any such problems with it. | Message | HAROLD LLOYD, Video clip feat. Babe Ruth This clip has educated me. I had heard of Babe Ruth through sporting accounts from US based TV broadcasts. Sport isn't something I follow on telly, preferring to engage in it rather than just sit and watch... as a consequence I never learned what "the Babe" actually looked like. Similarly, I had seen the famous Harold Lloyd clip that you posted where Mr Ruth is an unfortunate passenger in Harold's taxi but never knew who the lanky middle aged man was who demanded to be taken to the Yankee Stadium. In that clip he is older and (to my eye) much better looking for it. For those who don't know, my eye is only drawn to men who are in their second half century so I never made the connection from the sport of baseball until I saw this clip. Thanks for that. The clip was both funny and sexually interesting - the sex interest coming from watching Mr Ruth's "crutch puppy" as he is bouncing around in the back of Harold's cab. Excellent. >^..^< B E Bloke |
