| Message | My father, John Maxwell Walker, was on the initial crew of the USS Randolph. He was on the Trinidad shakedown cruise in October 1944 and also during the Randolph's Pacific service in 1945. He was a Fireman 1st Class. I have heard him relate many times the story of the kamikaze attack in March 1945 at Ulithi. I have some additional information about him and his service on the Randolph at my web site shown at part of this entry, including pictures. |

| Message | Was assigned to V1 Division in May 1957 as an Airman thru August 1959. Started as a plane pusher, then Fly 1 phone talker. Later to Flight Deck control then onto #3 Elevator operator and ended at LSO talker. Had 2 Med cruises, a shake down to Gitmo in 59, and to finish up to Pier 86 NYC and down the St. Lawrence to Quebec. Upon return to Norfolk Va. I was discharged. |

| Message | I came aboard in 1958 andleft in 1962. I was in M _Division. I was In generator control for 2 yrs. and then went to main eng. control until i left the ship. I presently iive in Greenville,N.C. |

| Message | My dad, George Robinson, served on the USS Randolph from 1953-4. He was a Machinists Mate and spoke highly of his experience on board ship. He passed away in 1996. |

| Message | I served on the U.S.S. Randolph from 1956 to 1959. I attained MM2 and worked in Engine Room #1. Sailed on 3 Med and 2 Caribbean cruises and one down the St. Lawerence Seaway,( Quebec ). I believe we were the first carrier to ever sail down this seaway. I was on at the time when the Randolph was converted from a CVA to a CVS. This was in the Cold War era. Proud to have served. Lots of stories and events. Would welcome any contact from old crew members. |
