| Message | I had the honor of serving in Randolph from 1965 through 1967. I was a GMG3 assigned to Gun Mount 53. Of all the ships I served in throghout my Navy career, Randolph holds some of my fondest memories. I often think of those shipmates I served with while aboard, and paricularly GMGC Cook, an old salt who had a profound impact upon my life, along with other good men who taught me much. |

| Message | I served on the USS Randolph in V-2 division in 1967-68. My role in V-2 was arresting gear operator in the engine room. We had to make sure that the hydraulic tension was set properly so when the plane took the aresting gear cable, the plane stopped in the correct distance. This was a great ship to serve on. From here I went to the USS Yorktown. |

| Message | I'm still working on a website with pictures, but I am trying to keep things together. However, I wanted to list some names of men whose pictures my Dad had in his album.. while they were on the USS Randolph. I hope anyone that's interested, will contact me. Some of the pictures are on my site at I have others but unfortunately, Dad didn't put names on the back of all of them. I will add some of the others in a few days, and hope someone will recognize people in these photos.I looked at some of the photo's on this site, and just can't believe how lucky my family was that my Dad came home. I have always been proud of my Dad, but I'm also proud of all of our other servicemen and women who fight to keep up safe. The pictures I have are of, John T Schmuck, W D Ruff, E F Ayers, H J Zuhowski,Baltimore, MD, not sure of this spelling Carmody,from New York, Nellis,from PA, Kopachi, Gerald,from Maine, Page, from South Carolina. | Message | I am the son of Harold Nevin Shutz. My daughter just found his name on a muster list today, January 23,2009, so I googled her, the Randolf, and found your website. My dad left the Navy around 1950 and in later years lamented not staying in for retirement as I did. He was also on the USS Salem and an unnamed fleet tug. |
