MessageI was an HM2 on board from 66-67, same time as Larry Alcorn (don't believe I ever met him) and John Sallee. Hey John, write back if you ever check this site again. I just found it, and it brought back (mostly) good memories. I wonder whatever happened to Brother Jim Felkins, Tony Siano, and others.

MessageRudolph A. Ziehm was my father who served for the duration of WWII and the magic carpet operation as a corpsman on the randolph. He has passed and he didn`t talk about it much but he did tell me once about the kamikaze attack and how horrible it was. he knew every one of the men he found dead, maimed, etc. It stayed with him I think every day of his life after that. Joined on his 17th birthday and was discharged 5 years later on his 22nd. As I said like athe majority of the men who actually fought in that war-he didn`t glamorize it and he didn`t dwell on it. I never realized he was in reality a HERO until many years later-they ALL were.
