I am sure we have worked together. You can contact me at [email protected] if you like. Hope you have a safe and prosperious new year.

MessageTo Charlie Simpson, I appoligize to you because I don't remember your name, but I have a poor memory and have always had a hard time with names. I too worked in #3 fireroom in 1967. I was the primary Electrician. I remember having to work on problems with electrical circuits (lights, pump motors, ventilation, etc.) in the middle of the night many times. You are right about B-Division having a bunch of great guys. I was always treated right by those guys. If you would like to talk I can be contacted at [email protected].

MessageWhen reviewing the guest book I noted a question from Frank Bitondo on 10-4-2010 asking why we stopped in Bermuda and Bezerta on the Med Cruise of 1962. We had a brief stop in Bermuda to top off the oil. I was on the bridge as Captains Talker so that put me up there for all Special Sea and Anchor Details. We were there less than 6 hours and underway again. The stop in Bizerta was to deliver a large supply of tents as there had been a civil uprising that had resulted in a need for emergency housing. Because I was part of the "Administrative Detail" of the Shore Patrol I was on the beach for about 8 hours which was spent in a office. There was liberty but there was not much to see except the bullet holes in some of the buildings we were near. At least I could say I had been in Africa.
