| Message | I don't think Phil got screwed. Kovalchuk is by far the best player in the deal right now. If Bernier eventually turns into a stud then Dan might win the deal. It is quite weird, however, for someone to declare an all consuming desire to beat someone and then turn around and make a deal with the same person. But Phil does keep the FHL interesting so ![]() |

| Message | I overvalue bernier as much as I undervalue kovalchuk ... he's garbage but not fantasy garbage ... Dan overvalues kaberle more than I love bernier ... fhl is boring without me ![]() |

| Message | Phillies got screwed with that one, sorry Phil, I an rooting for you. But you actually helped your main enemy by giving depth in his weakest spot. And now you have huge whole in your d core. |

| Message | kovalchuk has indeed been dealt to the phillies for kaberle and bernier.. negotiations lasted 3 emails and 55 minutes, as in: 1) who do you want for kovalchuk? 2) kaberle and bernier 3) deal we look forward to replicating our toskala/nabokov hedge that worked out so well by picking a team and getting both goalies. i made the deal with the feeling of 90% sure kovalchuk remains in the NHL.. after reading a few more sources, i'm more in the 98% range, i guess we'll have to see! |

| Message | The Phillies are sad to send Jonathon Bernier indifferent to send Tomas Kaberle and nervous about welcoming Ilya Kovalchuk into the organization... I think we'll find out soon what kind of race it'll be ... here's hoping he signs with LA for a billion dollars scores 100 points per year and is a complete defensive liability causing LA goalies heartache for years to come... I hate Ilya Kovalchuk |
