MessageMaybe it should be clarified more. This is how I interpret the proposal.

There will be 2 point totals at the end of the year. The actual points which will determine the final standings for payouts and standings. Teams will still submit their month end rosters as per usual.

The second total will be the highest 12/6/2 monthly and this will be used to determine the draft order only.

Does this sound correct to all?

MessageThe calculation will include your 12 top scoring forwards for the month, 6 d, 2g. If Backlund is in the top 12 for that month, then he is in.

It's an automatic rule which eliminates any controversy or (mis)interpretations of rules.

MessageI'm fine with all three original proposals. I'm also fine with Phil's proposal on #3 (Byfulien as F only).

I disagree with Phil's amendment to #2 but perhaps it is because I am missing something. If it shouldn't be subject to dispute, then doesn't that mean that the calculation at the end of the year is always going to be wrong?

Stupid example: If I put Hemsky active and Backlund on the farm, and then Hemsky gets hurt on day 1 (expected as per Balzer) and Backlund gets 10 points in the month, what happens? The 'calculation' at the end of the year is going to say that I didn't ice my best roster. It seems to me that this has be based on a dispute. Furthermore, that dispute should be made within a few days of the 1st of the month. No waiting until the end of the month or anything

Message1. Yes

2. Yes to Phil's version. Let's do ourselves a favour and allow this rule to eliminate roster move disputes, rather than require one to have the rule kick in.

3. Yes to Rob's. It's a bandaid solution that prevents more issues with the player once he's possibly on someone's team. If he's drafted as a forward (i doubt it) and then in January or next season his GM wants to dress him as a D-man, we don't have a rule on eligibility. I don't know the answer, but we need something definative since his role is likely to change one way or the other.

Message2. True, it either should be in or not. I vote for it. I also don't mind keeping the list during the year.
3. Good idea.

MessageGoon... nice to see you're still in the pool... thought maybe you'd finally realized it's a lost cause for you and you'd given up. smilie

As for the rules I know it's voting time but I have a comment for rule #2 and #3.

1. Yes

2. No. This shouldn't be subject to dispute, it should just be calculated this way at the end of the year. (I'll do the extra work if needed)... basically if it's dependant on a complaint there are situations where a GM could be trying to tank and still not have people complain because it would affect the draft order in reverse of the expected results.

3. No (He should be allowed to be drafted as an F)

MessageTime for rule proposals -

1. Fee up to $30 per team. 1st gets $150, 2nd gets $60, 3rd gets $30. Money up front - out of towners mail the check to the commissioner. Commissioner mails checks to winners.

2. The anti-tanking rule - if there are any disputes between fellow GMs in regards to purposeful tanking by not making appropriate call ups and demotions to their FHL and FIHL franchises the draft order will be determined by the actual 12 best forwards, 6 d and 2 goalie points (of players playing with that franchise for each respective months within the regular NHL season) to be calculated at the end of the season.

3. Byfuglien rule - simple - he cannot be drafted by an FHL franchise. (it is too hard to create an unbiased rule regarding his forward/d status changes - because this is an extremely rare situation, the easiest thing to do is to ban him from being drafted before he becomes the property of a FHL franchise - again).

FHL GMs are to give their yes or no to each of the 3 rules within one week of this statement. Majority rules.

MessageYou must admit though GM Terror - Phil probably does beat you on trades per "capita" - i.e. if you create a simple formula of trades per year and I think he might have you beat.

The Terror is right though - he does have the storied history on his side of making the most trades since the inception of this league.

Yes, I do believe a FHL Report is forth coming - and this could prove to be the most competitive FHL year since the first season in which there were 3(ish?!?) lead changes well into the 2nd half of the season. I have to check into the storied archives to confirm that though.

In the rumor mill - GM Epp and GM Brown are trying to swing a deal tonight.
