MessageTRADE ANNOUNCEMENT.

The Goons organization have traded Alex Tanguay to the Brown Blazers for Rich Peverley.

Tanguay came over last season in a trade with Terror and was a significant disappointment. There was simply no room on this years roster for his services. Peverley is a younger player on an offensive minded team. We expect that he will be a solid contributor coming off the bench in case of injury.

MessageDuke, my team name is not Team B. And I think we should call this the Terror rule from now on...

I agree with the amended rule. The prospect draft was originally as Rob described but over time, things have clearly changed and even though this rule has the most effect on me, it is only fair that the situation described by Dan is nullified.

MessageSorry guys....don't look at the banter board for a week and look at what you miss out on. I guess my vote won't really count for much at this point but what the heck.

-yes to rule 1
-definately agree with Phil on rule 2. Better to avoid the disagreements. Include the prospects.
-think Byfuglien should just be considered a forward from here on in.

MessageTo me it is imperative that prospects are included in the calculation. This eliminates all controversy surrounding players such as Tavarez or Stamkos continuing to be on the prospect list. I nominate Dan to look after this part of the standings since his understanding of the rule is clearly the most evident at this time.

MessageOne comment on the Commish's comments is that I would rather see the worst team of the year get the player rather than the worst GM of the year.

Messageif we keep the benches (and prospects, if approved) up to date on pickuphockey, it will simply be data entry required in a spready on the first of every month. plus there have already been a couple volunteers.

imo it's more fair to award higher draft picks to Team A who has no prospects and finishes 7th in the standings than Team B who finishes 8th in the standings but has Stamkos and Tavares on the farm. awarding Team B the #1 PP is rich getting richer.. cam agrees with this statement and has been a big supporter of the proposal.

i think this voting process has been pretty painless.. the reason for the suggestions is that the initial proposal from months ago changed without discussion.

MessageBy the way - the vote on rule # 3 has passed, 5 votes for, 2 against and 1 GM neglected to vote.

MessageYikes - you guys clearly have no idea about Robert's rules. When a motion is on the floor you have to vote on it, not another amended rule.
(however, it is partly my fault because there should usually be a discussion period prior to the vote - I thought we had already discussed it, but not everything I guess.)

That being said it looks like Goon took back his vote which means 4 against 3 on proposal # 2 - which means it can't pass.

So we vote on the amended rule # 2 - that the draft order is based on the best 12 forwards, 6 d and 2 goalies on a month by month basis based on whom ever is within that franchise (including prospects) no matter if there is an accusation of tanking or not.

-discussion - I have some concern about the amended rule - 1. the reason why the FHL started out with farm teams is to allow GMs to simulate NHL Gms ability to make suitable call ups from their farm teams. There is some skill in this. With this new rule in place Gms that did a bad job in that regard (and need a break with a better draft position) will not be given the proper "leveling device" that a draft order is intended to help parody in a league. (ie the rich get richer).

2. Trust me - it will be a heck of a lot of work to figure this # out, taking into consideration the fact that trades and when they were made will play a factor.

3. I don't think prospects should be counted - prospect picks are technically only "protected" - not drafted assets.
