Messageit was always going to be a tricky game last saturday against leatherhead, sadly we came out on the wrong side.
we have to regroup, regain the KILLER instinct and march(kick) forward , it is early in the season but we MUST learn quikly from our errors.
come on lads you KNOW you can beat anyone.
you have a good manager and support team ,and the supporters are with you.
forward and upward

MessageWell I think yesterdays performance against Fleet echo,s what I said on the earlier post,we were always going to give someone a tonking after the performances against Leafe,Chatham and Sittingbourne, and at last the goals went in and in turn a decent performance after the first 10 mins,5-2 flatters them I think,as with one cleared off the line a dissalowed Riedy goal and other near misses it could have been more but we will take 5-2 and move on to Whitehawk on Tuesday night,3 more points hopefuly lads.Well done to all concerned on yesterdays performance. smilie

MessageIt's a cliche but we'd been saying for weeks that eventually our luck would turn and we'd batter someone. Well this wasn't a battering but at last we found our finishing boots and what finishes they were. In off the post volleys, delicate chips and thundering strikes, everyone an exquisite goal. And all that after going behind for the fourth game in a row.
Be nice to see another six points in the bag this week. smilie

MessageWatched the reserves play last night against Cobham- thought Ross White played exceptionally well, especially scoring 4 goals, and Matt Hempstead did well too. If we are not scoring in the first team, shouldn't we be bringing in players like this?? S.

MessageAgree that yesterday was very dissapointing I as much as anyone would have loved a return to Gander Green lane,as would Bradley,Tom Hughes,Harry and Dan,however it was not to be ,had chances again yesterday but again soft goals given a way, however lets put some realism into everything, the first two games have given everybody at the club cause for a good season,I can understand why other players were given a chance yesterday as it is a long season and with a squad of 20 you need to keep everybody on the ball,I am not saying I agree with the changes but in my opinion Graham and Dave and the rest of his team has put together a decent squad on what resources are at the club, and I think will be there or there abouts come the end of the season,I hope people dont become to hasty as we are only 3 games in,and am sure this will turn around,Leatherhead have not exactly got off to a great start either but am sure that there management team wont be questioned at such an early stage of the season, take heart from what the Chatham report on there site said, yes yesterday was dissapointing and I am gutted in the stomach, but we must move on and get behind Graham and the lads for a tough away fixture at Sittinbourne on Tuesday night. smilie

MessageVery disapointing going out to lower league team who have let in 16 goals in what 5 or so games, just not good enough.Team selection needs to be looked at.we are not a premier league team who can squad rotate.I feel I've wasted my Saturday afternoon. smilie smilie smilie smilie smilie

MessageI'd just like to wish everyone at Merstham all the very best for the next few games, while I am away on hols. With a little more guile we could have had 6 points by now, but it's very early days and I'm confident it will all come right. We certainly have a good squad and the prospects are exciting! Work permitting when I return, hope to see you at Whitehawk. Come on Merstham! smilie
