MessageBack from the latest trip into Kent and far from quiet I can assure you of that. The player who did the swearing v Woking has apologised in front of the whole dressing room amd that is end of the matter. They all know that disrespect of this manner will not be tolerated, no matter who it is. Antony and Rob have both played at this level and they do have lots of contacts, the new signing today I thought was excellent and the whole team effort was brilliant. Unlucky not to grab the three points, but over the 90 mins a draw was a fair result. Let's hope we can now have a win on Tuesday before we take on the Rocks.

MessageId just like to say im really dissapointed Taff called it a day. As i truly belive he has got some decent players at Merstham. Hopefully the new Managerment will reconise that and may be add a couple in certain areas.
I want Merstham to progress and stay in the league. I still have many friends at the club and im sure the Directors will get the right man in. PS Great result today but i still want to beat you when we next meet!!!!!

MessageWell done lads. Have no idea how the game panned out but to get a draw against the league leaders with all the turmoil that has recently been going on is a good result and hopefully something to build on. smilie

MessageI would suggest Steve Duke that you do your research before commenting on players and just making assumptions. Harry played for Sutton Utd`s first team for virtually a whole season in the Conference South and that was when he was just turned 18. He then suffered a bad ankle injury that put him out of the game for at least half a season. He then signed and played for Leatherhead for a season but had a reoccurence of the injury so spent time sorting that out and then went back to Sutton Utd`s reserves to gain match fitness. smilie

MessageSteve & Anthony

You seem to be genuine supporters of the Club but no one seems to know who you are. Please make yourselves known at the game on Tuesday then you can air your grievances face to face instead of on here. Antony Williams has told me he is willing to speak to any supporter who wishes to dicuss team issues with him in the bar after the game.

MessageTed, many thanks for your reply.
Nathan, thanks for your message which has more or less told me all my comments were wrong. This is what makes Ted such a great chairman. He has actually acknowledged I have some valued points.
I agree we should be positive but it seems hard to be when anything a paying customer wants to say is just shouted down.
Unfortuntely as a board you don't didn't quite get taff's appointment correct as look at how we stand now.
With regard to played at the level above, i could only think of Roscoe and Dean Hamlin with what you would call proper experience of the above level?
The young boys, the left back, boy who got sent off - are they not part of this college set up? The goalkeeper was at lingfield i was told - level below. harry ottaway sutton reserves at most? Roger rubana - our own reserve team? Moriarty - he has been with us?
Where are these sold called "experienced of this level" players?
It will be interesting playing a league game against a team going for promotion tomorrow. Unfortunately all the talk about how well the team did in the second half at woking is null and void to me. Yes they had a strong team, but lets be honest - they didn't get out of first gear.
I am behind the boys and you as a board of directors, but please accept responsbility when things go wrong. Mr baxter has gone quiet?

MessageWhilst players may have shouted 'f off' at Antony and Richard at the Woking game you may also remember Harry Ottaway's on pitch bust up earlier in the season in which he also said the same to Taff and Dean Hamlin also said the same thing to Taff during the away match at Faversham so I don't feel you can point to this as a lack of respect for Anthony and Richard as it was going on before. Whether you feel it is right or wrong. As for the players not being experienced enough to keep us in the Ryman South many of the players currently in the side have played at least at this level with a fair few having played at the level above so I don't think this is the case. I do feel that the squad requires some more depth due to player departures and I’m sure whoever is bought in will look to address this. With regards to Andy's comment in the Surrey Mirror, no manager would come out having quit a club without citing some reason or another whether true or not as it would clearly harm their chances of getting another job in the future so I would take it with a pinch of salt. Knowing the members of the board as I do I know that they only have the best interests of the club at heart and that they want to see Merstham achieve as much as is possible within the resources of the club. They all put in huge amounts of work behind the scenes that very few people see and it is frustrating to see people have a pop at them at the first sign of any trouble. As the Chairman says, let’s be more positive

MessageCome now Steve don’t let us have a slanging match you have a good knowledge of the game, but there are times when decisions have to be made and they may not go along with the way you think, we the board of directors are doing our very best at all times and it won’t help morale if we are seen to be at each other’s throats whenever we have a problem. If you were to hear some of things we hear at other clubs ours are minor by comparison. Please keep writing on Guestbook, but just for me be a little more positive. Many thanks Ted Hickman

MessageI think Steve Duke makes a lot of very good points on his last message and it will be interesting to know if the Board will answer his points, his previous message was quoted as 'silly 'which i think is not only rude but very condescending, surely us as supporters we should know which direction the Club is going.I see that Taff was quoted in the paper as saying he quit due to 'differences with the Board' is this not a similar statement which GB said when he left ?.I could go on about various other things, but i wont. All i want
is for the Club to be transparent.
