MessageWay overdue, put him in the hall immediately. He did a lot in those 10 years and would have done a lot more if he had lived.
His numbers would have surpassed bench.

MessageAlso a genuine Thurman Munson fan. Was stationed in the Navy over in Guam when his plane crashed. I was stunned and definetly shed my share of tears. He was a great team player, which of course made THE choice for "team captain". We needed more baseball players with his character, not only then but for sure today. With the commissioner and owners turning a blind eye to our illegal substance issues, Thurman would have taken care of any of these problems in the clubhouse. This of course would have gotten press only because guys like Steinbrenner would have tried to impress their will, looking of course for more money at the gate.
Thurman HAS been overlooked. Like your information says, his lifetime stats along with
World Series stats should gain him enough appreciation to rightfully be honored in the "Baseball Hall of Fame".

MessageI firmly believe that Thurman deserves to inducted in the Hall of Fame. His record, although cut short, speaks for itself. He was a great player and individual, both on and off the field.

MessageIt is truly an injustice for Thurman not to be in the HOF. There are catchers in there now that were not even in his league. I am one of only two members of my family that are not Yankee fans, but there is NO doubt in my mind that Thurman was one of the great catchers to ever play and belongs in the HOF with the other greats. The excuse that he didnt play long enough is ridiculous, his numbers and accomplishments speak for themselves and compare favorably or exceed any HOF cather. Sad that his family has suffered enough without this travesty. I am ashamed of MLB and the HOF committee.

The hypocrisy of the HOF knows no bounds.

MessageI grew up hearing stories of how great Thurman Munson was. My family were not Yankees fans, but they recognize greatness when they see it! My Papa said he was a hundred times the player that Johnny Bench or Carltton Fiske were, and I agree. No one deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame more.

MessageThurman Munson should absolutely be in the HOF. August 2nd, 1979. I was 9. My sister & I were unloading the dishwasher. My parents were in the living room watching Wild,Wild West when they broke-in w/ the news. Putting him is simply the right thing to d.
