| Message | Hi Naledi Thank you fr all the kind words and compliments. Yes, you are right, it was Saruman and Mithrandir at this stage has not begun to suspect anything amiss about him. How, one wonders, could he manage this? well, I am cheating a bit, because we know he has a palantir, and i am positing another of the 'lost' palantiri in Dol Guldur, for we know the wraiths managed to communicate with Sauron somehow while there. Poor Legolas needs Erestor so much and has such a long road to travel. they will have their real reunion soon Thanks again ![]() |

| Message | Poor Legolas' suffering was terrible to read about, yet after all he had been through I don't see how you could realistically have cut it short. So was it Saruman who tried to trap Legolas? That would certainly explain why he thought it was Mithrandir. Unfortunately Mithrandir doesn't seem able to suspect Saruman. He almost seemed to make the connection, then lost it again. It was good to see Legolas back in Erestor's care. It was a wonderful moment when he finally woke up - just a pity that Erestor slept through it! This was a wonderful update. I'll try to be patient while I wait for more! |

| Message | Hi Stef no need to apologise, i understood what you said and i thank you for the many kind words. i am envious of your ipad even if the typing interface is annoying yes, Legolas' childhood in Feud had to be terrible, and the worst part about it is that he grew up adapted to that kind of life. he really had no chance to form a different set of coping skills and the kinks and flaws in his character are minor compared to that of those adults who treated him this way. thank you again and hope all is well for you and your family ![]() |

| Message | Hi ebbingnight Oh thank you for reading and sending me such terrific support! Theres a heaven awaiting folks who are so loyal very important to me and holds me up. I, too, thought all this was too much to endure reading about a very young Legolas, but it c does help us now to look back and see exactly how Legolas came to be as he is when we do meet him. Imagine that everyone you loved treated you as though your only purpose was as a convenient place to dump all misery and frustration , dismissed and scorned on every hand. Thank you again ![]() |

| Message | Hi Naledi Thank you for thinking of me and for this superlative feedback I'm ok and hope you are coping too.i can always count on you to find the theme I was going for the chapter detailing malthen's death was all about the contrast between him and legolas - how each handled Judgement, how each handled shame and public humiliation. Both doomed from birth to a life of menial service, unable to love and be loved in return. We see that Malthen is selfish even when he most cares for Legolas - wishing he was his father, yet knowing his son could only carry on his shame. So he relishes the fact Legolas loves him, but does not really care what that love means for Legolas. So I find it hard to forgive him even now. Thank you for noting that Legolas stayed true to himself. How much more admirable that self than Malthen's character, for Malthen also remained true to his underlying bitterness and resentment.Thank you again and I hope to make better progress soon ![]() |

| Message | I was only wondering the other day if you were okay, so I was very glad to see this Feud outtake. This was a poignant piece - Malthen is so understanding and sympathetic towards Legolas here, but of course I couldn't read it without remembering what he becomes. Maybe the seeds of his future are being sown in his hopeless love for Ningloriel. After all, he's not blind to her indifference towards Legolas, and the effect that has on Legolas, and yet he continues to love her. It's sad to read about how unloved Legolas is. Of course, we know that from the rest of Feud, but somehow seeing how he was aware of that even at such a young age is terribly sad. This is actually a very interesting comparison between the two characters. Malthen's unrequited love eventually twists him, but Legolas, despite being denied love, remains true to himself. The way he comports himself at the bow giving ceremony. What a brilliant idea, to leave an arrow under the tree! Thanks for sharing this. I hope we'll see another Feud update soon. |
