| Message | hi ebbingnight Yes, I like Celeborn here, very wise and compassionate, willing to face the ugly issues head on and deal with them. Thranduil can actually help Legolas in this case of the ritual sacrifice, though it will astound everyone, Legolas not the least But Celeborn is really holding Greenwood together during this crisis. He is respected by the sylvan and Sindarin folk alike and Thranduil trusts him - possibly the only elf Thranduil really does trust. His debt to Celeborn is ever growing, even Taurant's Nanny and Guardian came from his realm. Let us hope Celeborn's influence on Thranduil increases.Thank you for another very flattering review you are the best ![]() |

| Message | Hi ebbingnight ![]() Thank you for so many kind words and for picking out that theme that defines Legolas so well He really does not know any other way to process what happens around and to him and is likely to be suspicious of anyone trying to change his mind. He needs an outstanding psychoanalyst to help him break that conditioning. deprogramming is more like it.Too bad Elrond has been a central figure in that conditioning process, because he is probably the one elf with the experience and knowledge to help him break through. Aragorn picked up on Legolas' skewed view of reality right away back when they were traveling through the woods to the stronghold and he will do his best to help Legolas examine his ingrained ideas objectively and discard those that he would naturally reject if applied to anyone else he knows. yes, Erestor is definitely suffering over his early abuses and will almost smother Legolas in love to make up for it. Thranduil has quite a ways to go before he can truly find means to even like Legolas, much less love him. He has a long history of externalising his wrongs and blaming others, and this is going to be a hard habit for him to break. Since he no longer has Ningloriel to blame, nor Legolas, nor Meril, his righteous wrath will fall on Elrond and one other close to him who has yet to feel the faintest sting for his part in all this. I agree with you, Legolas should not be the only one suffering through this recovery Thank you again ![]() |

| Message | hi Stef Thank you and yes it was so painfully to go through all that with Legolas and his odd family, but that kind of thing tends to connect people in a significant way and all become invested in his recovery. It is a dvery different reality Legolas has wakened to and he may have trouble believing he is not still hallucinating. Well, those mysteries were dropped in order to account for threads that are still out there unwoven into the story, but their answers are forthcoming. Celeborn, who was in Eregion when the Rings were made, will understand the crude example Mithrandir has in his pocket. Thranduil will figure out who that malignant bit of soul belonged to and what it was meant to do to Legolas, and I can say now that it was not the one seen by Meril, for it was a fragment only, and only one elf we know about has been reduced in such a way (major hint ) The identity of the soul tormenting her in the cell is that sylvan elf Thranduil captured so long ago and imprisoned with his brothers in the gates. His name is Te-Telch. (only another sylvan would understand the ritual death and be willing to employ it.) so there is some of the mystery solved and I will work hard to get the rest cleared up in the next update thank you for such enthusiasm and so many wonderful compliments and support ![]() |

| Message | Hi Dee ![]() Thank you! Yes,I agree Meril is thoroughly evil and she must have been turned gradually over the long years of her life to be able ot continue justifying herself. She must have had feelings for Lindalcon once and she would have to find a means to avoid blame for his death in order to go on living. What we do not see in that scene is the final realisation that will come upon her that she killed her own child and has lost the other two. Then she will be ready to die, but her soul is going nowhere. Thranduil's words are not just a quaint saying but a potent spell he has employed countless times before to entrap souls. (Even Legolas' soul would have been his had he died during the Judgment, as he was meant to do.) We'll see whether she remains in that dungeon forever or if another end can be found for her spirit. Yes, the love between Erestor and Legolas will continue to grow.Legolas is going to be almost entirely dependent upon him for a while. Thank you again ![]() |
