MessageHi ebbingnight

thank you. yes, i agree. what Legolas went through in Aearlinn wounded him so severely, body and soul, that he really had not means to fight against the situation in which he was immersed. i think the last installment of nestaron indicates Elrond has already experienced a change of heart.

MessageI agree with Stef that the Nestaron story reminds us of the Aerlinn story, though I would say the thing that struck me most was that had, Legolas in Aerlinn not gone through the ambush of his companions, the death of his brother, and all the ensuing anguish, he too would never have allowed Elrond to take such callous sexual advantage of him over all those years. Loneliness and grief can eat away at anyone, no matter who they are. Let's hope that the Nestaron storyline continues to be a strong and happy version of the "hidden identity revealed": and that Elrond too in put in his place a bit more, before the happy ending smilie

MessageHi Naledi smilie

Thank you! Yes, poor Glorfindel has run afoul of Faron and his gang. You know, this is really all Celon'lir's fault for decamping and leaving the company an unlucky number of elves lol! smilie A great coup for the Wood Elves, though, to capture the legendary Balrog Slayer. We'll see how he reacts.

As for Legolas, he is very young and his pride and heart both were stung by Elrond's cold words. He is not thinking about the gossips right now smilie We'll hear his rationale for this behaviour soon, but desire has a lot to do with it.

thank you again

MessageOh my - the image of Glorfindel, coated in slime almost knocked out all recollection of the earlier parts of the chapter! What happened to him? If it was the Wood-elves, it seems a bit unfair!

I liked seeing Legolas take control over Elrond. It's good to see that he's not just letting himself be used as some kind of play thing. But if he wants to stop the gossip about him, he's probably not going the right way about it smilie

Thanks for sharing this. I hope we see more soon.

MessageHi Stef smilie

Thank you and I amglad you enjoyed the chapters. Yes, I agree, this Elrond is very close to the one in Aearlinn. Back then, I was trying all sorts of ways to get them together, and Nestaron actually was written first and Aearlinn on its heals, and these are two attempts to make Elrond less horrible, as I was deep in Feud at the time, too, and he is the ultimate scumbag there. Next was Peniaur and he is getting better there. Then we see him in Fractured Light finally beginning to be the Elrond we all respect. It has been a challenge for me to write this pairing and I guess that's why I ended up with so many stories featuring them. I think the real difference in this tale is going to be Legolas and his personality will force Elrond to adapt, and I think it will definitely be quicker than Aearlinn :D And, Nestaron is where Faron was first written, and he is also in Aearlinn :D Hope nobody minds it; I guess I just like the way the characters turned out and since Nestaron was not going to come to light I didn't change them much.

MessageFinally, I read the two Nestaron chapters. Amazing as ever, this Elrond reminds me a lot of Aearlinn's character, I hope it does not take that long for Elrond to understand the error in his behavior.
Thank you so much for this wonderful updates!

MessageHi Naledi smilie

Thank you and I agree, that had to be a terrible moment for him. He did very well in front of his guards and prevented another big brawl, or worse, from breaking out. Erestor was quite surprised and while worried, is not without hope that the situation can be kept quiet.

Now Legolas has to try to sort out what all of this really means for him, and he does want the council of his elder brother. Celon'lir is already racing to Imladris, but it will take him a while to get there . In the meantime, Legolas and Elrond have to figure things out on their own. Thank you again smilie

MessageOh, poor Legolas - I felt for him as it dawned on him just how many people must have overheard and be gossiping about such a momentous occasion in his life. I'm glad that the elves of Imladris appreciated his maturity in the handling of the whole situation. He certainly seems to have won Erestor's respect.

Now I wonder if Legolas' brother will make an appearance in Imladris after all and if so, what effect he will have...

MessageThank you Dee smilie

Yes, I decided this event would have a very sobering effect on the young prince. HE is suffering now, but hopefully we can extract a happy ending for all. smilie
