Your Favourite StoryAerlinn by day, Feud by night
MessageI don't know what is more heart-breaking in the latest Feud chapter ("Na Bar ned Talan Nedhlant"smilie: Elrohir knowing enough as a healer to try singing a children's song with Legolas because that is the only part of his memories that haven't been spoiled and despoiled by his horrendous experiences, or Thranduil stripping the palace of all fabrics and braziers to help make a "nest" warm enough for his long-abandoned son, who finds this new, caring father almost unrecognizable as the coldly indifferent one he can remember.

And, through it all, Legolas is still thinking and caring about others, not himself. I'm so glad that he knows now that Lindalcon, his "brother in heart," is free at last and loves him still.

MessageThat's odd - I left a message last night, but it hasn't posted.

It's good to see you back. I hope you're getting back on your feet.

This was a wonderful chapter - poor Legolas is on the road to recovery, but so slowly and painfully. At least he has Berenaur. And Lindalcon's appearance was so moving. Let's hope Legolas picks up now he has assurance that Lindalcon is free to seek Mandos.

The ending brought a lump to my throat, too. The fact that he didn't immediately recognise his own father shows just how lacking their relationship is. Maybe now they can start to find common ground.

It's painful to see Legolas' recovery is so slow, but it's only to be expected after all he's been through. Lindalcon's appearance brought a lump to my throat, as did Legolas' viewing his father without realising who it was. A true sign of their estrangement, if more was needed. I just hope that they can find a way to reconciliation. Legolas has lost so much, I hope he can finally gain a father.

Wonderful chapter!

MessageTime to reply to the messages here - I have been away a long time.

betheliza - thank you so much for your compassionate words and good wishes. It has been a real struggle to move on from this, much harder than I ever imagined it would be. don't worry about how or when you comment I am just pleased you enjoy the stories. hopefully i can start making progress on them again soon.

Anne - thank you fr checking in and for the good thoughts and kind words. I wish I could say the new place is working out but it is not. That's OK because I am sitting here right now at the mechanics and my beloved van is now fixed :D so i can just move out. Hoping to get back to working on the stories again soon. things are improving despite this minor setback with the roommate.
