MessageSomeone referred to your stories and a quick search brought me here. I just finished The Elf Who Cried Hare and must tell you I laughed my tush off. Can't decide if it's Mary/Gary Stu and a whole lot of self (or friends) insert but it certainly went down fine with a glass of wine. smilie

I look forward to reading more of your works.

MessageThanks ebbingnight smilie

Your praises make me smile and I appreciate them :D I agree Thranduil is in rather a bad situation, having learned to despise Legolas it will be very difficult to learn to love him. This will become even more evident as Legolas grows stronger and they have different opinions on exactly what it means to serve Greenwood. Thranduil may appreciate that brash bold outspoken nature when displayed by Haldir, but he will not likely tolerate it from Legolas. Yet it must be said that Legolas no more loves Thranduil, instead overwhelmed with the idea of having a real father love him, and loving that ideal figure.

I entirely agree about Elrond. There is no cause or reason and anything he will say will only serve to reveal how perverse his nature had grown since the tragedy of the Last Alliance. I don't think anyone is going to permit him to wear Vilya for awhile. Maybe this will be good for him, this episode of humiliation, and maybe he will find the folks back homeless than sympathetic, too.

thank you again :D

MessageAdar ah Ion (Father and Son)

Yay! You wrote another chapter!!! And it's amazingly good: you captured the awkwardness and the promise of this first real conversation between father and son. Both Thranduil's shame at his treatment of his first-born and his innate arrogance as well as Legolas's understandable efforts to maintain a protective distance and his longing for love came through very clearly. But the critical dilemma still remains: if Thranduil can't bring himself to love his son, and merely does those things for him that he should have done all along, true healing can never happen.

As for Elrond, I can't imagine what "motive" he can possibly offer to explain his actions in deliberately trying to destroy an elfling. No wonder his sons are dismayed and clearly don't know what to do about their father's dishonor and detainment.

A riveting chapter yet again!
